I get a numbness in my scalp also! I stopped asking people if they get this because noone ever seems to and they always look at me like I'm nuts, so I am so glad someone else does! Sometimes it's the top of my head, but it's usually towards the back. I asked a doctor about it once and she just kind of blew it off. Have you ever talked to a doctor about it? It appears to not be something to worry about so I haven't bothered talking to a doctor about it since that one time.
I'm no expert, but stress has powerful effects on our physiology. It may be that a tense muscle in your back, shoulder or neck has pinched a nerve, causing it to feel numb. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing exactly what is making your head feel numb... The key issue seems to be that you are scaring yourself with your thoughts... you may be making the symptoms worse! It is easier said than done, but worrying does not serve us any purpose, except to make us feel miserable. I hope you can find some peace of mind until you are able to be checked by a doctor.
It would not surprise me if this were anxiety. I get numbness and stuff from it. I have terrible neck and back trouble too. Sometimes it aggitates my anxiety level just tired of the pain and stiffness. If it keeps up, just go to the doc or just call him. I think reasurrance is the best thing we can do for our anxiety hun. Take care and we are here for you. Colleen
The last few days the right back side of my head feels numb. I was just wondering if anyone experiences this also and if it could possibly be anxiety.
It freaked me out today, I acutally almost went to the hospital. I was recently diagnosed with bone spurs in my neck and some disk degeneration and thought maybe that may do it also.
My anxiety is really high from these symptoms. I appreciate any responses.
Thanks
becky
