Hi Sfree

Penitent is exactly right.  It can take many quits to finalize the quit, and then again to be absolutely sure it is the final, we are going to have to be dead.  This says that anyone of us could start again if we had the mind too.  Our trick is to have the mind not too and we can do that by putting lots of time between that last smoke and as you said we do NOPE and its gets easier and easier.  One think to think about is having something dictate to you what you are gonna do next.  That’s gets old anf smacks of lack of freedom.  Then there are the health issues, smelling issues, money issues, match issues, where to smoke issues, running out issues, waking up and the needing issues…  We are glad for you too and happy to support you along your journey.  And you know you’ll be helping us too!

And we do it minute by minute, then hour by hour, and  then day by day…

No shame sfree - that's life; it takes many of us many quits before one sticks, me included.

If I remember correctly you are much younger than the average quitter around here and I applaud you for trying to quit early - I wish I had.

You can do this!

Welcome back and good luck!!

Hi fellow quitters! I am not a stranger to this site.  I had quit 2 years ago and then started back up again a few months ago and now am smokefree 10 days.  Never quit quitting.  I feel really good and am hoping this will be my last quit ever!!!  I waited a few days to sign back on and seek out support because of the shame of having started smoking again.  But I know I need the support of others to help make this quit a success.  I was thinking about why I strayed off the path last time and now realize that I wasn't staying true to myself and my quit.  I fell below the NOPE guidelines and thought 1 would be fun and fine and a few months later 1 turned into 10 a day and a struggle to quit again.  So I set a date, New Years, I know cliche, but a great starting point for myself and I am really feeling good about this.  I am so happy to see some familiar names on here and to see all the new quitters.  So thank you for being here and I look forward to celebrating some successes with others.
