Sarah, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better assess the situation. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your kind words, vickers. It is great, well not great in the sense that I wish this upon anyone in the world, but it is really comforting to talk to others who truly understand how I feel and what I am going through. It is all very new and frustrating for me and although extremely supportive, my friends and family don't personally understand. Thanks so much again. I have a feeling I will be here quite a bit!

Welcome aboard! Sorry you have to be here, but glad you found us! Unfortunately, there is no magic wand to make this go away. Being that I have had this for 12 years, I know that personally. However! The good news is that there is hope! This website offers a free 12 week program teaching Cognitive Behavior Therapy (The Panic Program). Cognitive Behavior Therapy is the most effective way of treating this nightmare because the panic / anxiety comes from our thoughts and the only way to beat it is by retraining your thoughts to help you cope. I hope you take advantage of the program because it is really informative and helpful. For the first time in 12 years, I finally have hope of getting through this. And, of course, when you have really bad moments, like we all do, we will be here for you so don't forget to use the support group when you need to talk to someone! There isn't a single person on this website that doesn't know exactly how you feel every single day! :)

I am so very thankful that I found this group! I am a new sufferer, it is just so darn depressing. I started coming down with panic attacks a year ago and have been desperately trying to beat them. Much to my disappointment, they still plague me. The attacks themselves are full of fun, exciting symptoms like passing out ( only twice so far), throwing up (a lot), needing to immediately go to the bathroom (technical phrase I have researched to be called "rapid gastric emptying"!), extreme desire to flee the situation, and hot flashes (I am only 26). Needless to say, this puts quite the damper on wanting to go out to bars and such with friends because the fear is always there that I will have a panic attack. Introducing agoraphobia, which by the way, I had no idea what that meant until a year ago. Completely bizarre new concept for me because I was the d*mn social chair for a sorority...I mean really, what goes on here? So, I have officially lost my mind. I am still fighting, daily it seems, with making myself leave my condo. However, it is truly comforting to read others' stories about their experiences. It makes me feel not quite as alone as I have recently. If anyone has a magic wand to beat this, please share. Any other tips would also be much appreciated. Sincerely, crazy in Atlanta. Young and homebound. So sad.
