HELP, EYEBROWS FALLING OFF!!!

20 years ago 0 58 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I just want to add that I was a low carb diet also! I lost 45 lbs in about 3 months, also had started smoking in the midst of it all, then quit. Its a lot of trauma to put your body through, the quick weight loss. Sometimes I think it threw my hormones off and that is why I am having the trouble I am having with anxiety and weird symptoms. I have gained about 10 back. Interesting....

Dear Cassie, As soon as I read your post I knew what was causing it. I too have lost alot of weight. I gained alot of weight on Paxil my nurse took me off it and put me on Zoloft, I had gained 75 pounds in a year!!! I lost 65 of it rather quickly, I felt terrible, my hair was coming out, I was dizzy, panicking non-stop etc....I was literally starving myself, too much coffee, cigs, I have NOT had a panic attack in 7 days just by eating more and cutting WAY back on caffiene, my sister-in-law in Ohio had the same problem you did when she lost weight, hair and eyebrows falling out, its the loss of weight, I found out the hard way starving can effect your health, physically, emotionally and mental. I agree with antipanic, losing weight too fast is not good, I have been "thin and sick" and I would rather be "chubby and healthy" eat for health now and not for weight loss, just maintain your weight, eat some carbs. My sister-in-law's Doc told her it was a vitamin defiency from the weight loss, scary but not serious. I am sending prayers, please eat good and don't worry. God bless, Debbie.

I am going to check with my doctor. The only medication Im taking right now is Prozac and hair loss is not listed as a side effect so who knows. Thank you

Cassie, Why don't you check with your doctor? Are you taking medications? Could this be a side effect? Please ask your doctor or pharmacist regarding dosages and side effects. I would strongly suggest that you do not surf the net under you have spoken to a medical professional. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Hi thank you for you replie. I just turned 29 in April. Last year I went on a serious diet where I lost 35 pounds in a few months. I was low carbing. Went to the doctor after I fainted in a restaraunt and she suggesed getting my Thyroid checked, standard when it comes to anxiety symptoms but because I have been suffering with this since I was 19 had my thyroid checked then it was fine she decided to forgo the test. So ya I did lose allot of weight but I was practicly starving myself. I have actualy gained about 5 pounds back. I read about symptoms of thyroid disease and I have allot of symtoms both overactive and underactive. Whats up with that? lol Im going to make a doctors appointment soon but Im still pretty freaked out, I don't want to lose me entier brow.

Cassie: I am 32 years old, and I just went through a major shedding spree, hair on my head and all. My eyebrows also showed tiny "bald spots", obvious ones, when I move the hair around I can sorta cover them up, but they are there. It definitely is a sign of thyroid trouble (easily correctable with medication) but I had my thyroid checked and it was normal! It could be the time of year, just a cyclic thing. I just lost a lot of weight, I am attributing all of my hair loss to that since all my bloodwork came back normal. It will grow back. Mine did, it took a few weeks. Mine was also on the inside of the eyebrows, not the outside. How old are you? Have you lost weight recently?

I posted this on another anxiety type support group and this person replied telling me that what is happening to me is a sign of Thyroid Disease! Now Im really scared! He suggeseted that I symptom surf this but Im so scared. They said that losing hair on the outer part of the eyebrow is a sign but Im not losing it there. I told this person I was a Hypochondriact but I sware some people want to scare that cr_p out of you!

Hmmmm, I am not sure.... maybe a vitamin thing? Do you take a vitamin and eat healthy? I wouldn't worry about if its not painful. Just thin out the other brow with tweezers and then fill it in with a eyeliner pencil. And ofcourse, call the doctor. You will be okay though. I know its easy to get worked up when you experience symptoms that are different. Just relax though. If there is nothing on the internet then its not a sign of something awful. Hope you are doing better. Give me an update.

OMG SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAS HAPPENED! My eye brow is falling off!! I know this sounds sort of funny but really when it's on your face it loses it's humor somehow. I have sort of sparse eyebrows as it is meaning they are not dence but I have enough. Yesterday morning I had all my brow hairs and this morning I woke up to a bald spot on the thickest part of my brow, right in the middle. It looks as if maybe 3-4 hairs came out!! Im crying, Im scared my entier brow will come off and Ill wake up with my brow hair on my cheek! I did some surfing on line to find out what could be causing this and the only thing I came up with was Chemotherapy and Alopicia sp? I showed my husband and he said it was noticable, Im freaking out! What if Im sick with something terrible? No one knows what Im talking about, hair falling out they have heard of, eyelashes falling out they have heard of but not eyebrows falling off! Anybody have any ideas what this could be????
