Stiff/weak muscles an anxiety symptom??

20 years ago 0 387 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I have this problem, too. Sometimes it's a weak muscle, sometimes it's an achy muscle - anywhere in my body. I think it's because when we're anxious, we tense up our muscles without realizing it. I'm so glad the program is helping you! I am on week six and have also noticed a huge change. I have a general anxiousness throughout the day but it is nowhere near as severe as before I started the program. Well, some days are pretty bad, but still, it's not as bad as before. I am so grateful for finding this website! It's been an absolute lifesaver for me!

Hi I have body aches all the time especially when I wake up if I had to explain the feeling I would say it is the way your body aches when you have the flu. I though for sure I had MS or bone cancer. I found this started after I got on my medication (Lexapro) and I found someone else on this web site who had the same symptom and was also on Lexapro. So maybe that is what was causing it or maybe it is just stress. My pain would be in my arms, legs, and in the middle of my shoulder blades. I hope everthing works out for you. Keep in touch and hang in there my prayers are with you.

Hi there, its me again. I started the panic program yesterday, and I *swear* it seems to be helping already. Is that possible?? Anyhow, I am trying to really pay attention to my thought patterns today, and I am really noticing how my mind starts wandering off into the land of "something's wrong with me" at the first feeling of a symptom. My symptoms all seem to be neurological, with muscle stiffness and things like that. Is muscular symptoms pretty common in anxiety/panic? Does anyone else get muscle grief? I get this horrid stiffness, it feels like a tightness or weakness (sorta) its hard to explain. It travels - sometimes it strikes me in both legs, sometimes in one arm, sometimes the whole right side, sometimes the whole left side. Anyone else? AP
