Mike, congratulations!  I can think of 1,000 reasons to celebrate this milestone!  You've been a huge part of the SSC, helping all of us stay focused on our quits!  I hope you found a special reward to celebrate!!!  Here's to the next 1000 smoke free days, and beyond!

thanks to all of you for the kind words , that's the way quitting works here , strength with each other.
reward? just being able to take deep deep breaths and enjoy pure fresh air , no wheezing or coughing anymore!

Astrofan  Congrats on your 1000 day milestone. Don't you just love it when the numbers line up 30,000 not smoked etc. Thanks for staying around and showing the newbie that it can be done. Excellent for you. breather

Hey Quit Buddy!!!

Huge congrats on your "Grand" anniversary!!!!  My virtual arms are wrapping a big bear hug around ya!!! What Mike didn't relay to y'all is that he and I originally shared the same quit date on Wednesday, March 5, 2008!  He had to go and play poker that Friday ...  I warned him!!    All is great, though...  Mike hopped right back up on the back of that nico-demon the next Wednesday and kicked that sucker's ash!!!   I am so proud of you, buddy!!!

I hope you have a great reward planned for your big accomplishment!  I did go out and buy that laptop for my reward!!!  Now I just need a little time to use it a bit more!  I'll be drinking a toast to you this evening, buddy!!!

          Way to go!!!

Congratulations Astrofan!

Thank you for sharing your success with is.  You have been an intrigal member of this forum for some time and we are lucky to have you!

For other member,  what is some advice you can give new quitters?  What would you wish someone would have told you when you first began your quit?

Wow , 1000 days ago I set out on a journey that I did not think would go very well. I wanted to quit smoking , but I didn't think I had the guts to do what it would take to quit smoking , everyone "wants" to quit.I had tried so many times and failed , but then I signed up here and decided to give it another shot.
At this site I found my strength in the team atmosphere here. Everyone encouraging each other , and sometimes "tough love".
Today 1000 days later I have not had even one puff , no cigars either.I am especially grateful to my good friend Jim {Hot S1o2} , Jim really got me started with some solid advice , we quit 7 days apart and call each other still for encouragement.
This post by the way is not about me or for me , this post is intended to help you new quitters,Wrap your arms around your quit and GO GET IT !You can do it right here a day at a time , a week at a time , a month at a time , 100 days and even 1000 days at a time.
I'm still quitting , how about you guys ?
God bless you all and thank you for helping me quit,
Mike/astrofan
