Lil, I fought like hell in the beginning, and almost gave in numerous times.  I was so tired of people telling me it will get better, it will get easier.  Yeah, right......  Everybody seemed so far ahead of my brand new quit that it seemed like an overwhelming task.  But..as everyone told me..wait until you see what's waiting on the other side.  It took me a long time to truly appreciate how much better I was starting to feel, then WHAM, it was like I never smoked.  I hope you don't have to wait too long - everyone's different, but don't give up on it, 'cause it really, really is worth it.

Cheers for that ... it is much appreciated.  This has just GOT to be my last quit ... not sure I have the energy to keep repeating these first few days. It is like hitting your head off a wall ... taking a pain killer ... and then hitting your head off the wall again!

Nine hundred and ninety two days on your quit ... ahh well ... they do say that it is the first 1000 days that are the hardest ... so you're getting there !!    (I'll be joining you in around 2 and a half years time ... so get the kettle on!)

Great to see an oldie (but a goodie)

Lil, it's great to see you again!  I'm so glad  you're back (with your sense of humour too!).  Keep doing what you're doing, and know I'm cheering you on.  I've got a good feeling that this is your last quit.   Jazz

Hullo ... was thinking about you over the weekend ... Great to see you with 3 ... no that will be 4 days now clocked up ... you made it through the weekend ... wot a guy!!

I am doing a bit of cold turkey now ... for the last three days.  Got a bit p***ed off with the constant stressing about whether or not I was getting too much or not enough nicotine into my system ... so I just threw in the towel and gave it up as a bad job.  My husband and kids are still hiding in the garden shed, the dog has run away, I have very little hair left on my head and my fingernails have all but disappeared ... other than that ... it's all good!

What about you?  how are things going?

As for Ashley (well .. all the 'Educators') I have answered their questions before, as good manners usually ensures that I at least try to do this ... but to be honest ... it is a bit of a busmans holiday for me ... only usually it is me who is the one asking the questions ... I dont feel so comfortable being on the receiving end ... it is simply a bit of a control issue!!   ...

But it is a fair point .... maybe we should ALL try answering the 'Educators' questions a bit more ... it cant do any harm ... can it???

Speak to you soon Mister

Luv Lil x

Hi Peteg,

Thanks for noticing .  I try to use my skills in Life Coaching to ask questions.  Self reflection can be quite enlightening and motivating but sometimes thinking about the answer can be tricky.  You don't have to answer on the forums but it might be interesting to discuss your answers.  Plus, members may benefit from your answers.

Lil, darlin, sorry I've been gone; been traveling for work where I can't log on; You go, girl!!  We both know from experience that it gets easier every single day.  You're SO almost there, where it becomes second nature.

Now we have to talk about Ashley, the Educator:  You ever notice how she ends every single post with a question?  Maybe you and I should start a trend of answering her questions.  You first, because she was talking to you, not me.

That is pretty massive and profound!

The easiest day!  Great work! There will be more of those in the future.  What do you think made this day the easiest?

Glad it was a little easier for you, Lil. You'll continue to get a mix of easy and difficult days, until gradually you get b far more easy ones than difficult ones. It really does get much easier.

Hi Lil...I am so glad to here you had a good day. I've been following your posts and "seeing" how troubled you have been.  I didn't think I really had the right to speak up (my quit date is not till Oct 1st, I am still in the preparation stage).

But as I am reading your posts...I'm thinking to myself (outloud.. lol) "If this girl can make this work, I know I can." and I mean that in a very good way, you have given me inspiration. Mainly because you tell it like it is (my kind of people).

I commend you... keep up the good work and hope you have many many more good days ahead of you.
And I'll be coming up right behind ya, real soon.

Nothing too massive or profound to be posting today ... just thought that I would tell y'all that today was probably the 'easiest' day that I have experienced so far.  It has been lashing with rain ALL day and I wasn't able to get out for my promised walk (except for a speed lap around the park with the dog) My throat still feels weird and I have more medical tests and results to be undertaken next week ... but ... today was the first day that I actually began to believe that maybe ... just maybe ... I could actually do this ... one day at a time.

Let's just hope that there are few more days just like today.

Lil x
