Teen Smoking

Cigarettes just have to be made inaccessible to them, at least until they are able to understand the concept of addiction. Addiction is the part of smoking I did not get until I was hooked. Maybe that's what has to happen to actually ge3t it? I don't   know. I think making them accessible, but expecting the children not to choose them will not work. It's like not expecting them to have sex. Since cigarettes are addictive and can be kept from them, they should be.

My Mileage:

My Quit Date: 5/1/2009
Smoke-Free Days: 451
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,628
Amount Saved: $5,366.90
Life Gained:
Days: 50 Hrs: 18 Mins: 17 Seconds: 56

Members,

According to a recent study, teen smoking rates have again begun to decline but the war is far from over.

As former smokers, what strategies do you believe may help sway the younger population to stay smoke free?
