I think what is most alarming is that most smokers know the statistics and know how much they are damaging their health, yet they still do it. I did for 25 years. I knew it could kill me, I knew it gave me headaches, wrinkles, lack of energy, isolated me from my family and other non-smokers, yet I did it twenty times a day.

My Quit Date: 11/23/2009 Smoke-Free Days: 218 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,360 Amount Saved: $1,526.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 0 Mins: 44 Seconds: 11
I think we are all aware and troubled by the possible consequences of our smoking. I always just pushed them out of my mind and kept puffing. It wasn't real unless I was sick or hacking. The end came when I was standing in my bathroom coughing my lungs up and reaching for a cigarette. Somehow at that moment I realized just how insane it was to keep doing this to myself. It took many years to reach that point. I hope others don't wait that long.

None... unfortunately as a former smoker I knew all the statistics.... I finally wised up and realised that I could beat the addiction and hopefully NOT become a statistic
