Hey Bill You nailed it, depersonalization (DP) and derealization (DR) are 2 really scarey side effects of anxiety and panic. They are uncomfortable, you hate that feeling, it is scarey butit is normal and will pass with time. It is the direct result of fatigue. Stress, constant worry, what if thinking all exhaust the body and the mind. Your mind can only take so many days and it will start to detatch (DP/DR) so it can recharge. It you think of it as a battery that is low and needs to be plugged into something so it can be recharged it doesnt seem so scarey. It is common when you are experiencing this to also add to the symptoms by breathing shallow, cause you are frightened. Feeling lightheaded, feeling a fullness in the head, numbness, all tension and stress. Best thing to do is accept the feelings, keep telling yourself that you are tired, stressed out. Next best thing is to do something that takes your mind off of yourself. Go play a game on the computer, chill out, take a nap. Be good to yourself. You might enjoy reading "Hope and Help For Your Nerves" by Claire Weekes. It was written @ 1969, but it still applies (the best I have ever read) to today.

I GET THAT LIGHTHEADED FEELING ALL THE TIME. THAT PRESSURE YOUR TALKING ABOUT I TRY TO TELL MYSELF ITS JUST ALLERGIES OR SINUSES. MY HEAD IS WHERE I FEEL IT THE MOST JUST A WEIRD FEELING. I DO THE SAME THING WHEN I GO INTO THE STORE SOMETIMES, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS ALOT OF PEOPLE OR THE LINES ARE REAL LONG AND I GETS STUCK IN ONE. I GET THAT NERVOUS FEELING AND IT STARTS IN MY HEAD ALWAYS LIKE I MIGHT PASS OUT. AND SOON AS I GET OUT OF THAT SITUATION I SEEM ALRIGHT. HAVING THESE SYPMTOMS FOR A YEAR NOW.

Well hi group, As a few of you know I was diagnosed with panic attacks / anxiety about two months ago. I've only had one or two panic attacks but have been having different symptoms of anxiety since I was diagnosed. Lately it's been a lot of weird feelings in my head. Sometimes it feels like a headache but most of the time it feels like pressure. Today I've been feeling really lightheaded all day and have had a sense of "fullness" in my head since I woke up. Today more than usual. When I was walking to the grocery store today the feeling of fullness became a lot more severe and I almost felt a numbness feeling from my head down to my feet. Even though I was walking it felt like I really wasn't. The whole time I was in the store I felt like I could pass out at any moment. I quickly grabbed the items I needed and walked back home. Once back home the feeling kind of subsided a little bit but as I'm typing this I still feel it in my head. Does anyone know about depersonalization? Is this the feeling that I'm having? As if I know I'm concious but I feel almost unconcious, like my body is doing it's own thing and I can't concentrate? My head does not hurt when I shake it from side to side but it feels really pressure filled and although my CT scan and all my other blood work and stuff was normal when I was diagnosed I'm starting to worry again about my brain and a possible tumor or something. Has anyone out there experienced anything like this and do you think it's anxiety? If so, do you think it could be continuing to go on for almost two months now? Thanks, Bill
