hi nicole and everyone just want to tell you i have read your post and it sounds exactly like me im so paranoid there is something wrong with my heart ive had the same tests as you and they have all come back normal but i dont believe them and im sure they are missing something even if they are not i just think "i may be ok now but if my anxiety doesnt stop soon i will cause myself to have something" I am particulary worried because when i do something like hoover or walk up the stairs i am so short of breath and i get a pain in my heart, it beats so quickly aswell. I am only 21 and am not overweight!! do you get this??????? I sometimes get the feeling like "elastic bands" are snapping in my head when it gets too tight does anyone get that???????? PLease say you do im so worried xxxxx

Nicole Hi. Sounds like classic anxiety. Sure the meds may be helping but you also need to be actively working on changing your thoughts and moods. There is no magic "pill" to remedy this condition. It is an emotional illness. This site has some great tools and a program to help you understand some of what you are living with, symptoms and reactions. You might also like to read "Hope and Help For Your Nerves" by Dr. Claire Weekes. The book was written long ago, is available on the net, but it is by far im my opinion the best resource to explain the symptoms, thoughts and problems anxiety sufferers deal with. It also will give you hope and a program for recovery. But that also means you have to be willing to work on you. Part of learning is acceptance. I can see from your post that you have been checked by the Doctors and everything came back normal. You have not accepted this and still think the docs may have missed something. That is normal for anxiety sufferers. It is part of what keeps the anxiety/panic alive, what if thinking. You are notcrazy. You are having normal reactions to your sensitized state of emotions. The mind is powerful, there is a built in "auto protect" system called "Fight or flight" For someone who suffers from PAs, this normal auto protect is misfiring. It is being set off by your thoughts. You are ok, what you are thinking and feeling is normal for PA sufferers. You might like to think about finding a therapist who does CBT thearpy too. That coupled with your meds should help you get it back together.

I wake up every morning and the first thing that pops up in my head is how am I going to feel today. I am constantly thinking I have some type of illness. I think I have some type of cancer, heart problems, or something and I think I am going to die. I really have not been having full blown panic attacks since I got on medication, but I cant get these horrible thoughs out my head. I am only 21 yrs old and the doctors have done chest xrays the halter monitor and three sets of blood work and everything has come back fine. But I keep thinking maybe they missed something. I mean how much can they really find out from blood work anyway. I believe in god and I know if it is my time to go there is really nothing I can do about it and I should just live a happy life, but even though I think that away I can't make myself just enjoy life. I feel like I am crazy. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
