Debbi, I think you are just going thru the change. Even if it is not menopuase it is common for you to change every few years. It happens, and hey, in a few years you will not be getting them at all!!! Just try to relax and make sure you get plenty of water and iron. Have you had your iron checked recently? My mother in law gets heavy periods and she is so anemic that it makes her sooo tired and ill. Hope you are doing well. I know it is hard when you have to take care of your son. You want to act like its ok but sometimes everything is just not. Just tell him that you have a tummy ache. No one can feel well all the time, not even a great mom like you. It is touching that you care so much about your son. I really hope you are doing better. Hang in there, try to find a new doc tommorow!

Edit correction - I meant hyperventilating doesn't always get to the point of gasping for air - not year. :confuse:

Hey Debbie! Sorry I haven't been on here too much lately, I've been kind of busy. I'm sorry you're having a heavy period again! Don't worry - it'll be ok! You made it through the last one and you will make it through this one! Menstruation changes are normal. Have it checked out by a GYN that you can trust. It's probably something common like Fibroids or Polyps or something like that. Very treatable and certainly not dangerous! The tingling you are feeling is anxiety. It's from hyperventilating. Hyperventilating doesn't always get to the point of gasping for year. A lot of times the only symptoms you get is the tingling in your face, lips and sometimes fingers. Cup your hands over your mouth and nose when you feel that way and breath deep. It will eventually go away. I get that same way sometimes. Also, breath deep through your nose deep into your diaphragm to the count of five and then slowly let it out to the count of seven. Do this several times. It will help also. Don't ever feel like you're a nuisance for pete's sake! We are here for you and every one of us understands how you feel in moments of turmoil. Hang in there!

Thank you for your replies. I guess I am shocked by the intensity of the flow and pain, there is really no reason for it, last month I was 3 weeks late and engored so you would expect very heavy, this month right on time, I did not do anything wrong, I ate properly, walked and took care of myself, I get so scared because I am all alone with my young son, if something should happen to me I do not want anything to happen to him! I am going to try to lay down with my legs up but then I worry about my son, I keep remembering "no one ever bled to death or died from their period" maybe if I keep telling myself this I will believe it. I feel so frightned and alone, I did not do anything strenous today and it still is bad and scary, does anyone else have this phobia?? I have been having my monthly since I was 12 why now am I pretrified?! I guess its just part of the severe anxiety and panic I suffer. Please send prayers my way so I can care for my son. I am sorry if I am a nuisance or this is too long. Thank you, Debbie.

Hi Debbi, The tingling lips and tounge and the blurry vision sound like anxiety to me. I had the same syptoms, your worrying inside and it is causing you body to react. Those thoughts are making the axiety worse, try to distract yourself. My psycotherapist said to think of a neutral object...every time the "thought" comes into your mind think of an empty shoebox, always think of the same thing. When I'm really anxious weakness was a major problem for me...it's hard but you can do it.

Dear Lauren, I agree I need a competent GYN. I have having some strange symptoms, my vision is blurry, my face and tongue are tingling, and my heart is skipping beats, I don't normally have those, I do not know if its panic or something worse? I feel so weak and strange, my husband will not be home till midnight and I keep shaking. I hope you are doing alright, I have been praying for you and the baby. Thanks, Debbie.

You need a new gyn doctor. See them, there is so much that they can do to help you with the bleeding. Its just due to perimenopause. Calm down and keep telling yourself that. Try to find a new doctor, maybe a women wouild be good for you. Theya re sometimes better with menopasue. Take ibuprofen and relax!!!

Well I am trying to hold it together again. My monthly came last night with a vengence and I start to have all the "bleed to death thoughts" which even as I have them I know they are irrational and hormonal but I cannot seem to shut them out. Of course my husband is working and I am home alone with my little one which increases my fear! I really thought after last month I would be alright since that one was so bad, I keep thinking its going to be the same, losing all that blood and passing out or something {I am sorry to the male's of the site I hope this is not offensive} I feel so weak and dizzy and scared, I am doing self-talk and trying to get through it any encouragement and prayers would be so aprreciated! I just so want to feel healthy again, I have forgotten what it is like to feel normal, its like I am sick for more often than I am well! I am SO sick of being sick! and scared. Deb.
