still down a few pounds and runnig. Went to the doctor for chantix as I have not gone down at all on NRTs and have been heavy duty sucking on the eCig and wering a 14mg patch too. So I am going to start cold-turkey with chantix after week 1 and get over the nic-monster! Also, I started nutrisystem.

thank you. Not that this is relevant to the process, but I noticed my profile shows me as 53 years old and I actually had to do the math to check, because I am 52. I really thought my self, "what happened to 52". I guess the system it rounds up - lol

Hi Mike welcome to SSC!
Please don't worry too much abut your weight. Tackle one thing at a time. Your running program sounds great!
I am also really conscious about my weight and I lost my previous quits to that (or at least that was my excuse).
This time I decided I shouldn't worry about it and it worked!
Of course I tried to eat healthy and add something to my workout routine to  compensate for my lower metabolism but I didn't use the scale.
I gained no more trhan 5 pounds on my first three weekes and then I lost the weight. I am at my prequit weight.
So hang on buddy!!!

Thank you all for the great inputs and support. The other biggest change for me is I am in week 4 of the couch to 5K running program. I have never been a runner and it is amazing how well the body can adapt. That has helped me find a great replacement for smoking and is what is helping me with the weight and the smoking. As the duration of each run get longer, the longer I am off of cigs. I am on the 14mg patch and about ready to go to 7mg (in about 2 weeks) Running is one of my new focuses in my life along with a lot of other techniques obtained from this site. Again, thank you and congrats to all of you on your journey! Thanks for the snack ideas as well
