I guess I don't want to say a whole lot about this, but I've noticed that how well I do with an attempt is at least partly related to whether I have the right combination of meds. For instance, I used to take a med that calmed me to the point where nothing was ever a big deal: anhedonia. I couldn't force myself to do anything. Every quit attempt I've had has each come after I was taken off of that medication. Unfortunately, I often end up right back on it, because it is controls my disorder better than the rest, and I experience the fewest side effects while taking it, although one of its side effects is diabetes. Diabetes always comes back when I go back on it.

Hi Jackson1,

Remember to consult with your doctor or pharmacist regarding any medication issues.

Good work on throwing the pack away, try to stay as positive as you can and work on getting through this day by day.
Also the great thing about our program is that you never need to apologize for rambling. We are always here for you to listen and support you along the way.

Keep us posted on your progress.

This is interesting, Adderall and most ADHD meds are amphetamines, and going way back to my younger days, anytime I took amphetamines I smoked like a freight train. You may have to cut the meds, I know exactly what your talking about.

Well, I caved in and bought a pack yesterday morning. Should have thrown them out but didn't. Got home after work and had a couple more, wife was pretty pissed at me last night. I did throw them away last night and haven't wanted one today. The dilemma of have is my med for ADHD. When I take the adderall it speeds up and I constantly think about smoking all the time. On the weekends when I am not on my meds I don't even think about smoking. Has anyone else had any issue with this. I have come to the realization that I may have to cut the meds off because I would rather not be a smoker again. Would love any suggestions, hope I didn't ramble too bad.
