Jules,  I would like to caution against holding your breath until you are blue.  You are depriving your body and brain of oxygen that it needs. It can cause you to pass out, feel dizzy etc.  So please be careful.

Deb,  enjoy those BIG organic rewards.  You are off to a great start.  Keep it up!

Hi Jules!

Holding your breath does work, doesn't it?  You are a wonderful supporter :)

Have just woken up to day 3 and my head is much clearer this morning.  I don't feel as horrible as I did yesterday, and even feel a little excited to get on with my day.   The worst part of this quit so far has been waking up in the morning and really craving a cigarette.  It's really strong at that part of the day.  So I sat in bed for a couple of minutes "smoking" on a straw and talking to myself about the quit...... a little pep talk/prayer time.  The urged passed and I made coffee.

The feelings that are standing out the most are not so much the cravings (thankfully), but the strong sense that something important is missing and at times I feel desperate to find what that missing thing is.  I know these are just cravings and withdrawal symptoms, but it's hard to remind my body and mind of that at times.  There's an antsy-ness and mild depression that goes with it.

Things are starting to taste different, and my skin is starting to look better again.  I love those little organic rewards that are gifts from our quits.  I don't have to do anything to get them except quit.

I'm off to the shower.  So very cool to smell like rose petals and kid's kisses again.  Much preferable to the dock hag smell I was sporting.

Green beans and cotton candy? holy Toledo..................what a visual you provided me with.........well anytime you want to smoke, click your heels together three times, and say "I want to go home, I want to go home, I want to go home". And if that dosn't work,,,,,,,,,take a deep breath and hold it for as long as you can. Until your face turns blue............I promise that will help. Jules

Maybe those of us that are relapsing are doing so for the cabana show.   Hmm.....

Maybe we should promise the cabana show at the beach :)

Got through the day.  Found my way to work, goobied up a lot of what I thought were brilliant thoughts with the actual words that came out of my mouth.  Thank goodness my clients like me (I think anyway..... they may have been throwing tomatoes and I'm just not remembering).

Silliness aside: today was a day of fighting tooth and nail not to succumb.  A lot of my clients smoke and I had to walk past them in between groups.  And I did walk on.  Am proud of myself for that.

I'm grateful that I didn't stay away for too long because the habit of not smoking (at least for today), seems to be stronger than the habit of smoking.  I'm falling into it better.  Not to say it's easy by a long shot.  I'm writing as I sip Marvini's wonderful drink (thank you girl!), and have a straw sticking out of my mouth.

Jim, I would have IM'd you for sure today if I could get it to work!  It's a feature that I've never been able to get to work.  Thank you for that support, and I'll keep trying to figure it out.

Thank you Breanne!  You have always been there and such a wonderful supporter for all of us here.

Moss..... you were the one I was worried about disappointing the most.  I look up to you tremendously and am grateful that you wrote.  And thanks for offering to dance for me again :)  Hope I'm not wearing you guys out.

Bug!  You have 111 days!  That's a beautiful picture you have there along with some beautiful stats.  Sorry about your car.  You're one tough cookie hanging in there.  Keep it up cause I need you to hold the torch for me!  xo

Thank you all
deb
