Dear Lisa, I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see you name and the little bear. When I first started here you were such a tower of strength to me, and I know you already know how your quit video was so important in my quit. I still believe its one of the scariest most thought provking things I have ever seen.
So, I am so delighted you have come back home, and you're going to start your journey. Welcome back Lisa, its good to see you.

Welcome back Lisa!  I missed your Irish care bear.  Congratulations on your perseverance.  Very important in this fight.

Remember, this is an addiction.  Smokers view smoking as something great that makes them feel a void when it is taken away.  Alcoholics view liquor as a "can't live without" substance.  Drug addicts view drugs as a "can't live without" substance.  Tobacco chewers view chewing tobacco as a "can't live without" substance.  Had it been chewing tobacco you started with you probably would not understand how anyone could live without it.  Understanding that helped me a lot.  When I first came here I read the chewer forum and thought "How could anyone like that stuff" then it dawned on me people think the same thing about me when I smoke.

I don't know if this will help you in the early stages but it helped me.  Good luck Lisa.  I believe in you.

Hey Lisa!!!!

Fantastic to have you back, buddy!!!  Stick close and post your butt off if you have to!  We're here for you and you know that this is a great place to distract yourself!!!

Do the deep breathing, water drinking, straw sucking or gum chewing and keep telling that nicodemon to hit the road!  You have already proven to yourself that you CAN make it through Hell Week and on through to the calmer stages after that!  Keep focusing on the prize!!!  You can do it!!!

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

14 years ago 0 289 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi everyone, I've made it thru my first 24hours without smoking , I had promised myself that I wouldn't post here till I had 3 clean days since my other attempts since I fell off the wagon in Jan. have never lasted that long, but then somewhere I was reading a post by sparky where she had mentioned that she will always post no matter how she is feeling or what thoughts she is having, so I thought maybe I should do the same....... I'm wearing the patch, yesterday was really easy but thats cause I had my 3yr old grandson at the zoo so that kept me very busy, now today I'm back at work and all I can think of is that I want to go smoke. One thing I learned for sure from my past quit is that  N.O.P.E. is sooooooooooooooooooooo very true not following it is how I wound back up here in hell week. I feel like I'm just rambling so I'll close for now but I will be here lurking alot...... have a good day.
