Hi Lauren, I know you are right! THis will probably taper in a few days, it was just unexpected and surprising. Please let me know how the airport went. And I agree with you Grace ha-ha I had to laugh, that lady GYN used a "bizzare" method my thoughts exactly. I just hope my life can be a little more normal now, its been a real bad 3 weeks, one of the members {Sarah} is pregnant, what happy news! when a baby is so wanted its wonderful, I have a feeling you are going to be next Lauren, just a feeling?! Please let me know how you are doing and feeling. God bless, Deb.

Your period is so heavy because the lining (which is what builds up all month) is thicker since you are late. Take ibuprofen, it will slow down the bleeding. You can take up to 800mg every 6 hours. It will help you alot. Taking it easy is good too! I haven't heard of stimulating the uterus like that but I guess it worked! I guess you saw a nurse practioner(higher then a nurse, lower then a doc) instead of a doc, which is fine. Maybe they didn't want to prescribe hormones cuz they are covered in your plan? If they did, you insurance might not have covered it. She would have been able to feel a cyst or tumor during the pelvic exam. Pap smears only check for abnormal cell growth on the cervix. You should get one every year or so. And a good rule of thumb is that you should not have to change your pad/tampon more than every hour or two. If so, you should call the doc/have them paged. Hope you are doing better. The first day is usually the worst. Take care.

Hi Lauren, I just read your post, I have been in bed most of the day, but first please do not be anxious about tomm, I do not like airports either, is it possible to meet your Aunts outside the airport another words as they walk outside that way you can be in fresh air and more relaxed? I am sure they would not mind thats what I normally do when I have to go to airports, if not I am sure you will be fine now-a-days they try to get you in and out quickly. I wrote another post on the other topic, I started my monthly today and the pain and bleeding are horrific, apparently this "GYN" was a nurse I was led to believe she was an MD she "rotated stimulated and massaged" my uterus to bring on my delayed period, I hope this was alright, my friends GYN told her {she called him} there are much better ways like a shot of progesterone or provera, and she did NOT do a pap smear so I might of had an cyst fibriod or something, she did a blood preg test but results not till MOnday!! Does this sound right to you? This is exactly why I hate going for medical help, I think I am worse off with all this pain and bleeding, my husband could not go to work today and now will probably get in trouble, even he was shocked by the amount of blood and my pain, I just hope I am alright, it took so much for me to go yesterday and look what happens this is why I hate seeking medical help, I am afraid of hemmoraging I called her back 3 times she fianlly called back and said I was fine she just stimilated the uterus to start my period, have you ever heard of this?? Well I will talk to you soon, I will pray you do fine at the airport I know you will. Debbie.

I have had a awesome few days. But tommorow, I have to pick my aunts up at the airport. My first panic attack was in an airport. I was getting on a plane to come home and I had the mother of all panic attacks right there. This was back in december of 2003. I was able to fly on a plane again to Las Vegas in 8-2004 but was on zoloft for 7 months prior top that. I just started my zoloft at the end of february again. So, I am a tad bit nervous about going to the sirport tommorow. The weird thing is that flying doesn't bother me, its the whole airport thing. I am very excited to see my aunts so I am hoping that the excitement will overtake the anxiety. We shall see!!!!
