A heavy period is normal if it is this late. I would not worry about the conflictiing medical advice. Its normal for doctors to have different opinions. Doing that would not have harmed you even if you were pregnant. I am glad to here you are doing so well. Are you and husband doing better?

Thank you everyone for your support. I started my monthly today, it is extremely heavy and the pain is awful, the GYN said she "massaged and stimulted" the uterus yesterday to help me start, that kind of shocked me my therapist said until the results of the blood work came back nothing like that should of been done. I do not want to complain, conflicting medical advice I have been getting all my life, one says one things one says another! That is why I despise going to DOctors and fight not too, I never feel I get good care, I found out she was a nurse and not a GYN doc like I was told so that confuses me, but I am happy I went and faced my fears and did not lose it. THe pain and flow are concerning and bothering me, but perhaps I should just be happy it came, I just would of liked her to explain to me what she did so today when it came so very very painful and heavy I would of expected it and not been so surprised, DId anyone ever hear of "stimulating the uterus" to bleed, I thought you were given a shot. Well its over and I am so glad, I have been napping alot today and trying to stay off my feet because then the flow is terrible, I guess since I was so late this is to be expected. Thank you all again for your kind thoughful replies and support, I will always be grateful and never forget it, all the people on this site our wonderful and I thank GOd I found it. I just wanted to update everyone, I am going to go put my legs up and I will write back. Debbie.

Debbie, That is great!!! What a huge step that was for you. It took a lot of courage. I thank God that He equipped you to do what you had to do. You didn't hide under the covers. And, I know it was tempting. You overcame your fear and trembling and said, "I will." This experience will only strenghten you. You know (through personal experience) that you can face your fears and overcome them. I am soooo happy for you. :)

Hooray!!! I am so proud of you for facing your fears and going! You are stronger than you think - don't let anyone ever tell you any different! I kept thinking about you last night and wondering if you were ok and if you made it. I am so happy for you!!! Let us know how things go with your blood tests. I'm sure if it was anything too serious, your doctor would have made it a point to admit you to a hospital or something. Remember that while you wait for your results. Maybe that thought will help from letting your fear run out of control. Of course, being a panicker myself, I know that's always easier said than done. ;) But remember, you got through that first step. The first step is always the scariest and you looked it in the face and didn't let it hold you down. Congratulations again! You made a huge step!! Woo Hoo!! You should be proud of yourself! :)

Debbi Good for you, I am so happy for you!!!! When she did your internal exam, she would have been able to feel any lumps/tumors/enlarged uterus. So it sounds like you are gonna be fine. If you don't get a period and are not menopausal, they always do the blood work even if they don't think you are pregnant. Do you know if she is testing for anything else with the blood? So, how are you feeling, less anxious I hope. I had no doubt that you would be able to get thru it. And how did you do at the award ceremony? Talk to you soon!

Hi to all my sweet girls, I am sorry this is so late, I did not get out of the Doctors till after 7;00 pm then the special Olympisc awards went from 8:00-10:15 I just got home a little while ago and got my son to bed. I did it!! It was hard, so hard, but I did it, you were all right the anticipation and the waiting was worse, she did a breast exam then an "internal" she did not detect anything in the ovaries, she then took a blood test to be sent to the lab and will get the results late friday or early monday, she does not think I am pregnant but the blood test will rule it out most definatly she said. I am going to try not to worry and obsess till then, she did NOT do a pap, she said I would want to go to my HMO gyn because that is very expensive and I paid enough out of pocket for this visit, its been a while since I had an "internal" does anyone know what can be told from that?? Basically I think she wanted to rule out an ectopic, I would of liked her to do a vaginal ultrasound but since its so early it may not have detected anything, if anyone know what Doctors can tell from an internal please write me right back and let me know! She was nice, kind of laid back and casual, my nurse-practioner is very professional and digified so it was a little bit of a switch, not a bad one through just different. I gave blood and I did not faint, I am proud of myself, I was very nervous and panicky but she understood. My husband is not happy is said I did not get my money worth {she was with me close to an hour} I guess he is frustrated we have to wait days for the results, he is still not convinced, she said she did not think I was pregnant, and he got mad, he said "what do you mean think" I hope the blood work is negative and the internal ruled out ectopic, I think she does the bloodwork as a final just to make abosoultly sure! I am confused but relieved. Thank you so much my wonderful girls for your love, compassion, caring and concern, I just want to hug you all!! I will be looking forward to your replies, Thanks Debbie.
