grrrr,

Don't get discouraged! You WILL experience the benefits of being a non-smoker. It takes some members longer than others to get past the initial cravings.

Please continue to post and let us know how you are doing!

Grrr  If you're ready to take somebody's head off maybe there's another reason. Of course going through Hell week is sick in itself and most people here can relate to your name. Of course it's tough. It'll get better and then it'll get tough again and then it'll get better. I wish you well on your quit. H.A.L.T. breather 77 Addict 0

Grrr I know what you mean.  But you have gotten alot of good advice from Rock and I agree with Moses early on in this quit I slipped but didn't give up I got rid of what I bought and got right back to fighting and now it's alot better the physical stuff is gone now it's just cravings.  Went through a period where sleep was a problem but that is now gone.  Preperation and support from here and believe me there is alot of sincere support here.

If it weren't for the SSC and all the great people here I could never become a non smoker which I am.  Postive thinking helps alot.  Believe your a non smoker and you don't need them they won't help you actually they do just the opposite.  Our addiction fools us into thinking that they help with stress or even taste good at times.  But really think about it there are 20 in a pack here and they are all the same.  Non of them really taste good.

I was amazed a few days ago for the first time WOW I could actually smell my shampoo I never thought is smelled good.  And last night I had the buffet at a restaurant and could actually taste the spices in the food.

And I used to love hershey's chocolate and have been saying they changed how they make them it doesn't taste the same.  Well I have to retract that.  They didn't smoking took my taste away.  It's awesome to be a non smoker you can do it and believe me you won't regret it.  Sure it's hard very hard at first it does get better.  I have read alot of older post here plus went through the my program and I keep up with my crave diary daily if possible.

Cold water, breathing, walking anything to keep busy and your mind busy.  Posting here help me reaffirm my quit so come and see us often we are here to help each other.

Congrats on 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grrr,

Welcome to our wonderful support community and congrats on making the decision to kick the habit! As tough as it is, you are doing great with 3 days under your belt - hang in there!

You have reached a great place for support, encouragement and wisdom and members are always willing and happy to share tips and suggestions on helping you through your journey.

Please do review the program and tools available to you. You will need to create effective strategies to help you deal with or avoid triggers as well as a reward plan to celebrate various milestones. Planning and preparation is really the key to beating this addiction.

Please post as often as you need to and set up your quitmeter as well to show off your stats!

Good luck and stay strong,

i agree with moses , staying distracted is the hardest part at first , but it will get easier pretty quick . so fight hard , accept that it will be tough for a while , and fight through it.
you can do this !

grrr...
hang in there. 3 days is great. You're halfway through the worst week. That's something to be proud of.
i quit for 2 weeks 24 years ago and until now never made it another smoke-free 24 hours.
This website and it's people are what made the difference for me.
Work through the exercises if you haven't yet and come up with your coping mechanisms.
I can relate to being grumpy. And sleepless. And headaches. And not knowing whether i'm coming or going and forgetting what the heck i was doing.
You will succeed if you want it.
The thing i'm doing differently this time is that [and i'm not using this as a justification TO fail] but in the past if i slipped i said screw it and quit quitting until a much later date.
This time i'm going to keep trying to quit even if i slip.
Take care. Read and post often. Stay distracted (the hardest part for me!)
Moses
