TIPS! What works for you??

20 years ago 0 377 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I thought maybe we could share what we have learned or what we have found to help relieve our symptoms or attacks. Maybe we can all learn something from one another. I would love to hear what works for you so I can try it! 1. I have to distract myself. That means a conversation with someone, a project to work on, even getting out and walking through the mall. Anything to distract me away from my panic attack. 2. Sometimes a hot shower or bath but the thing is, I can NOT just lie there. When I just lie there and try to relax, I dwell on the feelings/thoughts and it does not help. 3. GET OUT OF BED. I get up, turn on the computer and surf the net for a while, put in a movie and lie on the couch. For some reason I can sleep okay on the couch but getting back in the bed makes my anxiety worse. 4. NO CAFFEINE. I have to have coffee in the mornings so I drink that Maxwell House 1/2 and 1/2. It only has half the caffeine. If I drink REAL coffee and especially my favorite Starbucks, you can bet my heart is gonna be pounding. 5. Take a walk. It is true and all the medical experts will agree. Any form of exercising will greatly help to reduce your anxiety/depression.
