Irish!!!  You did it!  You made it through hell week!!!  Bravo my girl.  It does get a bit easier from here (at least that was my experience).  And yeah-- the patch thing.  I put rubbing alcohol on first, let it dry, apply patch, and then put surgical tape on.... It's working great and it's incredibly hot here today.

YOU ARE STRONG AND CAPABLE.  YOU ARE WORTHY OF GOOD HEALTH, VIBRANCY, AND THE ABILITY TO SMELL THINGS REALLY WELL!!!!!!!
Congratulations :)
Deb

Cruise???  Did I hear Steve is taking us all on a cruise???  Isn't he such a great guy??  *giggle*

Thank you all for your suggestions...I've made to day 7 today and feeling pretty good actually.  Kinda surprised.  But I still have some awful coughing going on this morning.  Worse than other mornings.  I hope it's just the worse before the calm with the clearing up thing.  I still get some urges but I've managed to overcome them with some deep breathing like suggested and I've been drinking lots of cold water and herbal tea, rather than coffee and pop (or soda depending on where your from :) ).

Jim, I think most of the people I've met here are all pretty great people.  I'd be honored to be called friend by the people in here and maybe have some life long friends, as you say.

Hey Irish!

What helped distract me in the very beginning of my quit was to be here just as much as I could!  That was my distraction!  I would read and post read and support my quit buddies and read some more!  There is so much great information contained in these threads to help you!!  Do a search on a subject of interest and read away!! That would get me through hours of craves!!!
You know what?  It worked for me!   There is an added side bonus, too!!  You make some life long friends in the process!!!   NOPE!!!

Oh no,  not that weight thing again... blaaaaaaahhhhh.
If that junkie is ever going to get me good, it will be with the weight thing.
That is a true scare tactic!!!
I've been able to shut him up by saying... ok, later or let me see how I feel after xx days or xx months.
Every time I pass the date... I look at the quit meter and say "nah". I sure don't want to go through this again!

Irish,  how are you doing today???? Hope you've been able to dial back that junkie yelling in your ear.
Have you tried turning up the stereo really loud? La, la, la.... I can't hear you....

Steve, good to hear from you... hope you are well!! You are on the cruise!

Keep going!!! It's worth it!!!

Good for you Steve for not giving in to the mind.  I'd say change stations maybe, but then we can't just pretend things aren't there anymore....we have to try to fit our new life into some old things too.
