Hi Straw.Berry,
Can you see now how important it is to take the time to prepare for your quit? That there are a few things that you really must do before you pick a day to stop smoking.
- What are you quitting for?
- Who are you quitting for?
- How are you going to quit?( NRT or Chantix/Champix, or Zyban or Wellbutrin or plain old 'cold turkey')
- When are you going to quit?
In preparation,
Have you read through all the site programme?
Have you read through the archive-posts of your fellow-quitters in here?
Have you prepared a crave-basket and ice for your water?
Are you prepared to throw away all cigarettes (drop them in water and in the garbage) ashtrays and lighters on the night before your quit?
Have you decided to tell or not tell your friends and family?
Have you got your support set up ( Yes! You're a solid member in here on SSC already!!)
Have you thought about where you're going to switch/change seats at the breakfast table and the chronological sequencing of your daily routines ?
You can do it, SB!! Here in Ontario the government has even demanded that shopkeepers hide their cigarette displays from you!!
Patrick
