Pain between shoulder blades??

20 years ago 0 56 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I get tingling in my back and in my chest. I also feel cramping in my chest and a stabbing pain on both sides in my rib cage. I have chosto chondritis which is inflamation of the cartilage in the rib cage. I feel it often especially when stressed. I have been examined thoroughly for heart disease and am fine besides this good ole anxiety and chondritis.

Hi cookiepants, It sounds like you need some answers and clarification from your doctor. It can definitely be very frustrating when you don't get the help or the answers you are looking for from your doctor. Maybe you could at least talk to them on the phone before they leave to get some reassurance or even just to ask them about what tests they might consider for you. If this a doctor that you trust and respect, they should be able to listen and provide reassurance and guidance to help allay your concerns. Try to find reassurance in what they have already advised as they know you and are familar with your situation. If you do get the opportunity to speak with them before they leave, maybe you could ask if they could set up the tests you are requesting so that by the time they return, they could review everything with you. Josie I understand what you are saying and thankyou for your advise. I told my doctor what I've been experiencing and he says its all related to my panic and that there is nothing wrong with my heart and the sooner I learn that I might feel a bit better. Now after reading what you have recommended I'm scared that perhaps there actually is something wrong with me and the doctor isn't being thorough enough. He's so convinced that I'm fine that he hasn't ordered me any tests etc. I've had these symptoms when I get panic attacks for 10 years now. Sorry, I know you are trying to help but I'm feeling terribly freaked out now. I phoned my doctor so that I could demand a test be done only to find out he is going away for 3 weeks which I didn't know about. I'm still experiencing panic attacks even on my increased dose 45mg of Remeron and whilst the attacks have subsided a little the anticipatory feelings are larger than life. I went to the gym this am because I try and force myself not to avoid things and nearly ended up in tears because I'm feeling so debilitated and discouraged. Perhaps Remeron doesn't help with Panic Disorder and I have reactions to SSRI's so I really don't know what I'm going to do now. Thanks

I had the same thing after my doctor had ruled out any medical health problems, he just said it was tension, maybe slight strained from shoveling snow. However I do visit a chiropractor once a month, it helps with my allergies mainly and just makes me feel very good in general, but it helped that pain between the shoulders ALOT.

Members, As a regular rule of thumb, please note that in general, if you are suffering from the symptoms of panic disorder it is important for you to consult a medical doctor to rule out other medical conditions that produce similar symptoms. So, if you if you are suffering from radiating chest pain or a radiating pain in your back, between your shoulder blades, it is important for you and your doctor to rule out any other medical conditions. Hope this helps, Josie _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team. Edited on 2/23/2005 @ 11:18:11 AM by The Support Team

I too get the pain between the shoulder blades although more on the left side and at times it radiates around to my chest. I've been told by my doctor that its part of my panic disorder and I must be somehow tensing my body etc. I've also noticed if I get stressed. I find massage helps relieve it but money and time is another thing too lol

I have been having this pain and discomfort now since Sunday. I don't know if it's anxiety related or a pulled back muscle but it sure is scary. I wish you would check out that site I sent you. It deals with Health Fears.

I have a very annoying and light pain constantly it seems between my shoulder blades. Does anyone suffer this from tension or anxiety?
