This is great news, Kathy! The nicotine is gone from your system by end of today!  So, keep concentrating on how healthy it feels to be smoke-less and toss those cravings away like the crazy things they really are...

 Have a great weekend,
patrick

Feeling good (one hour at a time since noon).  Smelling good too.  Life is great right now.  My day is really hard today because of my oh so lovely job but can't wait until it's over so I can take my kids to the park.  Hey I'll actually be able to run with them without coughing up a lung.  LOL

Hello everyone,

Today is a really good day.  Today I am enjoying my ability to breath and not stink.  I think it's the smell that's just so nasty.  Last night my husband crawled into bed after coming back from his friend's house.  He stunk.  That nasty smell of smoke all over him.  If it wasn't so late and Iwasn't so tired I would have told him to get out of my bed and go shower.  I can't believe I smelled like that.  EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How is everyone else today ???????

Kathy,

Congratulations on making it to day 3! We encourage you to work your way through the program again and think about your reasons and benefits of quitting. Start to plan some rewards for yourself to help with the motivation. What techniques did you use in your last quit to help you with cravings? Use these and start working on expanding your coping plan.

Thank you everyone for your support and your posts.

Three days is a big deal and I will be taking it one day at a time.  Last time I didn't.  I was looking forward to the 5th and 6th month.  I felt that if I could get that far I would never touch a smoke again.  I was dumb.  What can I sam momentary brain meltdown.  Won't make that mistake again.  Just one day at a time.  That will have to do.  Right now it seems more like minute by minute.
It's really funny but after I read you post Karren I remembered what happened yesterday while I was doing a load of laundry.  I realized that I used to smoke in the basement where I had my clean laundry waiting to be folded.  Opening the window does not work!!!!!!!!!  I just pulled out a shirt I haven't yet worn after the last wash and OMG smoke all you can smell is smoke.  My kids would ask why I smell like smoke and I would say well you know daddy smokes or aunty or whatever I could come up with meanwhile, I reaked.  DISGUSTING !!!!!  At least I don't have to lie to them anymore.

Oh and Kathy I forgot to add- you're so right about the smell thing!! My worry is did I smell like that too??? my husband says yes we must have (he's quit too)
Yesterday I was in a store and the strongest stale tobacco/smoke smell came across and I mean it really was repungant and it was an elderly lady. She wasn't smoking but it must have been on her clothes or hair, goodness me I have never smelt anything like it before it really was quite awful- I am so embarassed to think I might have smelt like that to others. I am so fastidious about cleanliness too which makes it worse. I have to say my taste hasn't improved that much but my sense of smell has gone through the roof!!
