gerd i would say is what that sounds like, and panic disorder..the throwing up,i know you can from acid reflux but i would go to a doc,and try a ppi..i mean your quality of life has to suck,me i watch every little thing i eat so i dont get heartburn..ive been on the same medication for 3 years now..gi drs look at gerd as a waste of there time,i had the scope done, and now they say well take a pill...well that isnt working eithier hmmmmmm...thats just my story,i would go to your dr,and get on meds if you do indeed have gerd,i hope you dont, its uncurable in many peoples eyes and it makes life very hard to deal with..i hope you get better..God Bless.. Thank you for the quick response. I've tried Nexium (terrible side effects). I am currently taking 150 mg of Zantac and while the side effects are less in severity, they are still bothersome. Is i a correct statement that Xanax and othere benzos can exacerbate GERD? Thanks! :)

This one I think I can help with. I had GERD since I was a teenager..way before anxiety problems. GERD presence with chest pain, indigestion, acid reflux etc. I've tried alot, but the answer to this one is a proton pump inhibitor like Prilosec, Nexium, or Prevacid. If you have it a bad as I do, the other stuff just wont work. Get on the right meds and the symptoms will diminish. This is important for someone suffering with panic, because getting rid of the GERD symptoms gives you one less thing to worry about. As far as safety with these meds? I have taken them form many years with no problems. See you doctor. If your like me, your will find that this affliction is much easier to manage than the panic. ;)

I think I have GERD as well. I can deal with mostly every aspect of GERD and Panic with the exception of the intermittent chest pains coupled with extreme gas up near my chest. I had an EKG 9 days ago, all fine. I tend to be hypochondriacal so instead of going with GERD, I am tending to heart disease/cancers, etc. I do take Xanax on a regular basis (.25 mg 3/day) and am quite upset to learn that Xanax can exacerbate GERD symptoms. The chest pains aren't constant but every 7 to 20 mins or so. Please someone out there, tell me that this has happened to you. Angela

I've had both for years. I can't speak for everyone, but one has nothing to do with the other for me.... completely seperate problems.

Mei, You mentioned that you constantly have trouble with recurring bladder infections. The reason that I ask, is because this was a problem of mine. By no means am I saying that this is your problem. Just a thought. I told my urologist that I felt like a puppy that had to pee on every post I passed. Urine tests would show that I didn't have a urinary tract infection. But yet, my bladder was so painful and always felt like the pressure of some standing on it. After a round of antibiotics and a follow up, I still had the same symptoms. My urologist performed a different exam and found the culprit. He diagnosed me with 'Interstitial Cystitis'. He stated that I was losing the lining of my bladder and bathed my bladder in a solution that took away some of the feeling of rawness. After the initial treatment, done under anesthesia, to determine the condition of my bladder, and about 8 weeks of clinical treatments, I began to feel normal again. I hope you're able to get your problem dealt with soon.I know it's very frustrating. Hope I've helped, Della from SC
