16 years ago 0 967 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I wish I could take the meds without the side effects. I am working on getting in with my regular doc, but I don't think there is anything out there that won't make me feel like I am on fire!!! Thanks for the input Moss, most appreciated, I need to hear all I can. Hey Kelly, Sorry I missed this till now. I didn't have computer access most of yesterday. I'm glad you were able to calm a little since yesterday. Just to add a little. My Doc and I had a long talk about the Depression , anxiety issue yesterday. He also raised the milligrams a little again of the anti-depressant. He did say not to feel so weak or alone because this has hit this late in the game. Like many here have said, he said that many get past that initial fight stage of withdrawal, the mind really starts to rebel and the chemical balance can go completely haywire for a while. They don't know why it happens to some and not others. He did kinda laugh and say that lots of men who appear so strong on the outside wind up an emotional mess when giving up this addiction. I guess there is a little comfort in knowing that. I too have been wading through the day in a fog but am trusting that time and trying some different things with the meds will improve things. I am going to give this change in med 10 days and I am going to talk as often as possible with my wife about what is happening with my thought process every day. She is very smart when it comes to psychology and has some great insights. At the end of those 10 days, I will sit down and decide what to do from there. Didn't mean to turn this in to me but we have been running so parallel lately with this issue that I wanted to let you know how things are going and to share my doctor's input with you. Hang in there and I hope some sunshine returns soon. Yes we are here for each other... sometimes giving .. sometimes taking. We are not MD's but are willing to share experiences and. understanding. That nurse WAS very RUDE to tell you that.... It really gets my dander up when I hear of medical people being so rude... Most anti-depressants can take several weeks. to build up and work properly If you have some problems with them they could start you out on a smaller dose and work up...to lessen side effects. like Sue said now we are getting clean from nicotine and all the other little poisons it may take a bit for our bodies and chemicals to readjust... some may be a bit out of whack and need some help. I found a multiple B complex.. at a vitamin supplement store. The B's are a little higher dose... we need many of the B's for nerve and emotional health. You may want to ask your Dr to do some blood work. vitamin D and also some hormone levels.. lavendar, chammomile and peppermint are also scents that are helpful.. lavendar is calming.. and peppermint may give you a little boost. hoping tomorrow is a much better day. Kelly, we all need what we all need and sometimes we need more than someone else. If there weren't people in my life that I could zap energy from "ALOT" I don't know what I would do. YOu just keep zapping until you don't need to anymore. Thanks Jim. I think I am on the right path to getting myself well and understanding what may be happening to me. It makes it easier when you have friends to help you along the way. I feel like an energy zapper sometimes, taking up the time of all you good folks, but you have no idea how much it helps. I mean it. Thanks to you all. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 123 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,690 Amount Saved: $461.25 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 1 Mins: 38 Seconds: 15
