Booling, if it helps even better than saying "I WILL NOT SMOKE. IT WILL NOT HELP", then scream it. Out Loud!!! At The Top Of Your Lungs. That's what I had to do yesterday & I felt a lot better. You are a fragile time in your quit and having a situation happening is not fun. That monster waits for times like this just to suck you right back into hell. Smoking doesn't do anything but change your quit date and health. DL and Penguin have given you some good advice. Just say no for today and see what tomorrow brings. Booling, Sorry to hear you're going through a very painful situation. DL and Penguin are both right. Smoking won't change anything, and you'll only be upset with yourself. Stay with your quit, something positive right now, and know we are here to help you through. Booling You did the right thing by coming here and posting of your difficulty. That is exactly what this site is all about. You know Patrick is right. Smoking now will not help your situation one bit. The only thing it will do is get you right back to smoking. Hold on tight to your quit, stay close to us. Get through this and you will come out stronger for doing so. Get on the instant messenger and find a buddy. When I have those thoughts going through my head that say 'maybe you should smoke', what I tell myself (even if I don't feel 100% confident) is: "I WILL NOT SMOKE. IT WILL NOT HELP." Say it loudly. Somehow, for me, just vocalizing my INTENTION, makes it easier. You are going to get through this...I just know it. And you and I will be very proud that you did. Believe that you have strength. Hi, Booling. Sorry to hear about this pain for you and your family. I know how that must be putting great pressure on you to try anything to stop the pain... but, believe me, as I've learned here from many members, the nicotine will solve nothing but make you feel even more sadness and cause you even more misery at this time... Dedicate your Quit to being one of the Successful things happening in your family now. Yesterday my family got some terrible, tragic news. I was able to use alot of self-talk yesterday to not smoke, but today it won't sink in. I have been in a state of craving from the second I woke up and it seems to be making this news harder to process. I just need some help as this is the first time I have come close to slipping and I really don't want to. thanks My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 540 Amount Saved: $135.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 33 Seconds: 14
