last one for me before I crash into the LaZboy ...
I never answer the phone when it says "Private Name, Private number" unless I know who it is...

It really is okay to ignore callers with whom you don't wish to speak. Just because technology has cauvht up with out personal lives doesn't mean we have to conform our lives to technology. Just say no, don't answer, and delete messages. What could be easier?
peteg, who clearly has no social life

I believe it, Patrick! lol
When my phone rings outside of the 10 - 10 accepted times for a phone to ring, I answer with "Who died!?" So far, nobody has died.
My folks get angry with me if I don't answer the phone, and i've experienced that with several people. In my mind, that is an intrusion into my home, and I am not required to let you in whenever you feel the notion to pop in.

Thanks Grin!! I keep expecting a harsh email telling me to shut up and stick to the business of quitting nicotine... this is one of the many reasons why I was sent to the Dean of Discipline everyday throughout my high school life ...

Ringing phones wake one out of a dead sleep and when I was a kid telephones ringing outside the approved suburban-domestic hours of 9am to 7pm meant someone was in heart attack zone somewhere among the extended family around the world... now, when it rings, I still get a squeeze around the heart when I'm either asleep or falling off the log... creeps me out...
Help stamp out phones... buy carrier pigeons! That ringing is a sign of trouble for me and a flash-trigger for a smoke ... okay, that makes 589 triggers I count so far...
