Lexapro... anyone success stories?

Ahhh! hey there. I can give you my scoop on it. I took Lexapro for about 18 months. I did take a break from it and just recently started back again on the 5mg. At the highest I was actually on about 30mg a day. Lexapro helped a GREAT deal with my anxiety and panic. I hate the feeling of when you first start it. It seems adjusting to it just is awful but I know from past experience these feelings will pass. As for side effects. I am 34 years old and weigh 131. I did notice some slight weight gain but nothing like the 20+50 lbs you hear of from other medication. I mean like maybe 5 lbs. I found that if I worked out or walked daily, I felt SOOOO much better. The WORST thing for me, total and complete loss of sex drive. It was not immediate, it actually was about 3/4 months into taking it. When I got off the Lexapro my sex drive returned (much to my husbands relief) within a few weeks. However; I am back on it now, low dosage like you...and hope it stays this way!

I have been put on a low dose of Lexapro ( 5mg's). I'm going on day 10 now and haven't noticed any huge difference. I might be a tad bit better but it's hard to tell. I have fought against medication for a while now but realize I have no choice. I do NOT want to gain weight.. that is one of my big concerns. I am at the lowest weight in my adult life and I have worked very hard for 2 and a half years to get here. I think if I began gaining weight, that would really send me over the edge! Anyone have success with Lexapro?
