HI...I have never personally taken Lexapro but I do know some that have and they say it is good. I take Effexor and other than weight gain, I like it. I will just have to work on that part. Right now though I am having stomach problems such as swelling, indigestion and not being able to eat or drink anything without it swelling. If I didn't have my anti-depressant I don't think I would have survived.

Dear Chris Hi there. My name is Marilyn and I have not had any experiences as to what you have had but I do suffer from Chronic Stress and that is why I am on this site. I also suffer from Chronic Depression/Anxiety and have had panic attacks and they are so very real my friend it is not funny and not a game. If you are thinking of doing anything about your problems you might be better thinking about councelling. That is helping me a lot also I have sought the help of a group called GROW. Every little bit of help we get for ourselves helps in a big and small way. Try it for yourself and let me know how you get along I would be interested to learn of your progress so please dont forget to post me when you get this message. I tried effexor but found that did not work after awhile and am now taking LEXAPRO.

Marilyn, A good resource to tap into is the pharmacist as well as your doctor. They will be able to advice you on dosages as well as effects of medications. Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

I have been on Effexor for many months and I have gained only a few pounds, but was already overweight but losing. I have been through a divorce, lost my mother to cancer 3 weeks ago and I have a problem with the weight. I know that I can't get off of my medicine because I am not ready, but I need help with the weight. Got any solutions? Effexor is great, but it does have withdrawal syptoms. I ran out of my medicine from Friday until Monday and had real bad dreams and could not sleep.

Hi Marilyn Welcome to the group!!!! Have you checked out the panic program booklet??? (on the site?) If you do have some struggles around people, possibly some of the exposure work in the middle chapters could help you a little. Hope you are well! Katie
