Well, hang in there to the new ones on it. It does get better and you will start feeling better soon. It is just the start part that sucks so bad.

I had a severe bout of clinical depression along with my anxiety/panic disorder about two years ago. I am extremely sensative to medications, so it has always been a struggle to find something that works. Most cause weight gain, which makes my condition worse as this is a stressor. Effexor made my legs feel like they were going to fall off. As for Zoloft - that really helped me. I took it for six months, weaning as we got toward the end and it worked wonders. It gets my vote. I also take Xanax .025 every night at bedtime. Have for 18 years. My doc told me back then that I had to treat my disorder just like a diabetic would treat his condition, so I continue to take it just to keep it in my system (barely, I know) in case I need to step it up. :p

That I hate the most? Is how it makes you worse before it makes you better. The first time I went on Lexapro was almost a year ago. I remember the first few days thinking I was about to crawl out of my skin and actually AFRAID of myself. OF course, in a week or so it all went away. Eventually after a year I got off of the medication and just use the Xanax for panic. Well, recently I decided to get back on the Lexapro and BAM! same thing. The first couple of days were horrible!!!! the panic and fear was worse than before! I wonder why this is? I have heard so many others say the same thing about it. I think I am going to try the Zoloft, I took it in 2001 and never had any of that freaky new feelings.
