Way to go Kristilu! That is indeed how it's done! We find a way to shut up that junkie voice in our heads, and after a while, he becomes weaker and weaker. So stay strong, stay tough, knock that junkie out to the curb! You are doing it, and soon you're gonna feel absolutely great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 310 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,750 Amount Saved: $3,270.50 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 15 Mins: 42 Seconds: 17

Thanks I needed this. Day one in the car on the way home and out of know where this awful feeling, a feeling like I had never had and never ever want to have again. It was all I could to to get home safely. Unlike you I caved. But I do remember the feeling. Kristilu, you are a WINNER. You beat the monster today, now go do it tomorrow. Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 253 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,530 Amount Saved: $379.50 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 21 Mins: 35 Seconds: 56

Yes, Kristi, it's "those" times that make quitting sooo hard. I know today my big craving kicked in just as i was finishing work. And now that i am home, craving, craving, craving. Because i am on my computer in the room that i used to smoke in and not too busy (mentally). I know how you feel, those butts on the street sometimes seem like they may be possible to smoke, then reality sets in, UGH!!!!! Take care and keep hammering if that's what it takes! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 15 Amount Saved: $5.70 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 55 Seconds: 47

Today was day 1 - when I left work and headed to pick my boys up (everyday routine), I sooooo wanted a cigarette. So I called my hubby instead, and that got me thru to when I picked them up. But, just like a natural instinct as soon as they got in the car I cracked my window as if i was about to smoke. Ahhh!!--so the addiction really starts talking to me - "you can have one, just one, go ahead", "stop at the store", "ravage every crook and cranny of the house when you get home, you're bound to find one", oh and don't forget about the one you dropped in the driveway!!"""" But, when I arrived home, there was a bittersweet rescue from my crazy thoughts. My dog was out of the fence, soooooo, i got a hammer and some nails and hammered until my craving had passed fixing the fence.
