Need to be close to Hospital??

well if it makes you feel any better i have the same fear as you. i to am in the hospital field, and can relate to you. i have asthma as well. i noticed that i find myself not straying to close from hospitals. in fact i just started to go on crusies so that a dr would be around 24/7. when i drive it is the worst. in my mind i try to think of routes to local hospitals in case something happens. i carry an o2 tank in my truck along with meds just in case. i joined my local fire department thinking it would get my mind eased a little by being busy on off days, but that didn't help. all i can say is that therapy is helping and you should speak with someone. there are also local groups which meet on a regular basis. maybe you could look into it. it is a start.........christina

Hi, Do any of you need to have a hospital in your safety zone? I have to know that HELP is close by. My MD thinks it is because of the horrible asthma I had as a child is similiar to panic attacks and that is why I think I am dying. PLus, I had a severe medication reaction (anaphlaxis) which was a near death experience. I feel that I would be able to do so much more around the agoraphobia if I weren't tied to a hospital. Could be why I became an ER nurse. Thanks!
