Stomach Agitation!

I know, Rebecca. Thanks. I guess sometimes I get angry with myself for whining about these seemlessly small symptoms. Ya know, before I ever had panic attacks I never minded being sick. Hell, I took pride in it almost. Nothing could ever phase me. I had pneumonia when I was a kid and I was fine with it. Stayed in bed, took my antibiotics, may have even had dillusions. Still, I was fine. Now with Panic Attacks it's like every little thing bothers me. I always think "Is my panic coming back again"? It's like I'm more afraid of getting into the panic cycle than of real illnesses. It USED to be that I was afraid of symptoms that could be life threatening. Now I'm just afraid of things that remind me of anxiety. It's weird how things have changed like that. Anyway... Thanks again. Keep responding. This is interesting.

Tony, I don't believe out symptoms are little anythings. We suffer from them and we can be just as debilitated as people with missing limbs. Don't feel bad about asking or wanting to know.

Thanks everyone! I'm sure I'm just analyzing it to death. There are people out there with limbs missing and I'm getting all panicked about a little stomach ache. Sometimes I think it's best to just put things in perspective.

Tony, Along with the panic I often get digestive upset. Nausea, upset stomach and very active colon. It just feels like the digestive system is in HIGH gear.

Hi Tony, I guess stomache/digestive problems have been my most consistant and troubling symptom of anxiety. I feel nauseous almost constantly, sometimes followed by "butterflies". Eating does help stop the fluttery feeling but after I eat I experience extreme pains in my stomache and feeling as though I will vomit. Since I have been dealing with these symptoms for for a year and a half, I have found a few helpful methods. I find if I eat slowly and keep my mind distracted while eating i.e. watch a movie, listen to music or engage in conversation, it helps to lessen the symptoms. Also, I try to eat early in the day and not too close to bed time. Vitamin B complex and acidopholous pills were reccomended to me by my naturopath(sp?). I have just started using them and I will let you know if they help. I totally relate to how you are feeling, I hope this helps you. Cheers, Lolita

Tony75, I also get a exaggerated butterfly feeling in my stomach. Mine is like the feeling when your really exicted about something. I would get it while I was eating and it was so strong I would lose my appetite, because of it. Then it got to be everytime I would eat, I would be waiting for that feeling to come and sure enough it would. I started to lose weight because of it and then I started to worry about that. As you can see it started to become a vicious obsession cycle. It went on for about two years until I realized what I was doing to myself. I know longer get it while eating. I do wake up with the butterfly feeling in the middle of the night. I Just do some breathing exercises untill I settle down and I will usualy fall back to sleep. I have a book that tells about most of the symptons of anxiety in detail, so If I get a new one I will look to see if its in there and it is. When I got the book I just looked for the symptons I had at the time because I wanted be reconfirmed right then I was ok and could go on my merry way, untill a new sympton started, so I made myself go back and read them all in detail. So there would be no suprises and throw me for a loop. I still go back and read them to keep them memorized in my mind. I hope that helped. :)

Hi! Well, I have had panic and anxiety for almost 15 years now but my stomach has rarely been a problem for me. These last few days though I have been experiencing a weird symptom in regards to my stomach. It's like it feels very empty a lot of the time and then when I eat it seems to really bring out the butterflies in my stomach. But it's not like it hurts so much- it honeslty feels like hunger pangs, ya know? Its very bizarre. Everything else seems fine (in the "emptying" department). Anyone ever deal with anything like this in association with anxiety? I'd love some feedback. Thanks a million! Sincerely, -Tony
