Tonight I was having real bad chest pain with the left hand tingling too. Way scary, but it went away when I calmed down. Anxiety is a crazy thing.

Outlaw, I wish I could remember the term, as someone on this site suggested I look it up awhile back. But it sounds exactly like that. First let me say if you are having chest pains, see your Dr. about them. I had them a lot. Wound up having several EKG's, x-rays, blood work, and finally a stress test. All were clear and just anxiety. All gone at this point. Usually, the pain moving around and sensitive to the touch means it is just muscular in nature and is not your heart. Again, talk your Dr. to make sure. At the time, my Dr. gave me a anti-inflamatory that worked wonders. Good luck!

Outlaw, I've had the finger and arm numbness also. Have the Doctor do some testing if you feel it's needed, keep complaining if you need to and you feel it would reassure you if you are having a hard time getting it done.

I was 27 when my panic started. One of the hardest things IMO is to go from being completely healthy and strong to dealing with this stuff. The biggest emphasis I can put on anything is get any kind of help you need, anything that does some good. I was in too big of a state of denial to get it and I developed some problems like social anxiety now that makes life pretty tough.

I would first suggest you see your medical doctor to eliminate any other posibilities. I have found that a diagnosis of anxiety attacks is only made after every thing else has been eliminated. During this time read as much as you can on the subject of anxiety. A very good yet light book on the subject is by Dr. david Posen, called " Always change a losing game". Hope this helps, for I am not any professional just a fellow shipmate on a journey of discovery and hope.
