amy thank you so much for your posts on mvp i just found out that it runs on both side of my family and im gonna call the doctor tommrow i went to the site you mentioned and i havew alott of symptoms were you tired all the time? i am and thought it was due to the increase in paxil cr im taking just wanted to say thanks for the info
I check my pulse all the time as well. My resting
rate is about 70-80 but when I am doing
something it can go up to 120. I just found out I
have mitral valve prolapse and I am wondering if
others on this board that are talking about the
symptoms of heart racing and palptations should
look into this!! It is not life threatening but meds like
the beta blocker I am on can help a lot. Just
thought I would mention it!!
I am checking my all the time now too! I was at 178 the other night and I was saying this is not normal, why won't it slow down, ended up in the ER from 10pm-9am, not fun, but really we should all stop as I think it only makes it worse!

I thought I was the only one that checked my pulse all the time. I was going to write a new discussion about the constant heart palpitations that I always have. I am taking a lot of xanax which is making me so tired and lazy but it takes the palpitations away. I am so tired and scared of this anxiety panic thing but its nice to have all you tot talk with.
I told myself just the other day that I was not going to check my pulse anymore. Now I bought a tread mill and I am always using the heart monitor thing. Oh-brother when will it stop.
its horrible it feels like death, ive had it now 5 years..hang in there i check mine like 20 times a day sometimes when im having bad months mine is day after day than it lets up,usually to something else..
Rita,
I do the same thing. Sometimes it does make me feel a little anxiety if it isn't beating just as I think it should. I have some episodes though of palpitations when it feels like it skips a beat and that's usually when I really am feeling it.
My resting heart rate is anywhere from 65-80
When I stand up it ranges from 80-110
When I exercise it ranges from 120-150
I only know this as I check all the time as now I am exercising but yes, when I was having my panic attacks I was very concerned about my heart rate, worried if it was too fast, too slow..etc
I think the exercise helped me convince myself that I wasn't going to drop dead of a heart attack. :-)
What you are going through it very common with us anxiety sufferers.

Does anyone constantly check their pulse? I do about 10-15x per day. My doctors have told me to stop because it causes more anxiety. But I find it hard to break the cycle. I check it and its pounding, I check it & its faint. It drives me crazy. Any suggestions for helping me stop? All of my anxiety is exhausting me!
