Alana, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This will help you and your doctor better assess the situation. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. Make sure you discuss your symptoms with your doctor as well. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Until I found this site I didnt really realize how many people have panic attacks. I had an allergic reaction to nuts about four months ago. I didnt know it was nuts at the time since I was never known to be allergic. I had to go to the hospital and have a Epipen shot. After that I started having panic attacks. I started getting them when I would need to eat. I lost about 15 pounds because of this. Four months later I still have panic attacks and a fear of eating most foods. Is there anyone out there that can relate to this. I currently get shallow breathing and chest pains. I just want to feel normal again.

thanks startattoo, I just switched to the paxil and it is making me feel like ****. It's just so hard when i was doing great for 4 years and now i'm not doing well anymore. It is discouraging. But i keep the faith and i'm trying to be patient. I just want the meds to start working again. I know i have to give it time. But thanks. You can email me if you ever want at melisnl@aol.com.

Hello Melisnl, I felt compelled to write after reading your story. I know the frustration to be living panic free for quite some time and then to have panic again. My doctor is switching my meds around as well and that freaks me out too. I wonder if I am overpowering the meds and that is a scary thing to me. We just have to stay strong and remember that we have gotten through this before and we can do it again. Anxiety sucks and I would not wish this on my worst enemy but we can get through this. Try to be patient and forgiving of yourself and use this online support group as a tool. I hope you know you are not alone.

Hi melisnl, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. I would suggest avoiding putting your phone number on the site though. If you are interested in speaking to people in person, your doctor or therapist may be able to recommend this type of support group in your area. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. Welcome! Today was one of the first days in a few months that I actually felt good! I just started on the meds a week and a half ago. If your doctor switched you, I would give it some time and see if things get better and keep in contact with your doctor in regards to any side effects. As my doctor put it, the drugs are not for everyone, sometimes it takes trial and error until you find the right one. Dave

Hi everyone, First of all i would just like to say that you are all strong and we will get through this. I have been living with panic attacks for almost five years now. I am a 25 year old female. I had been taking Zoloft for four years but since last week my panic attacks came back. I just went to the doctor today and he is switching me to paxil. I'm kinda freaking out about it. I was doing so great for four years and now i am back to square one. It is very discouraging. I was finally living on my own and i just started college. Now i'm not going to class or work and i feel knocked down and hopeless. I'm affraid that the paxil won't work, cause all i read online about it is bad. I just want to go back to living panic free. I was feeling so alone this past week. I even told this great guy i had just started dating that i couldn't see him anymore. It just felt easier to do that, then try and tell him about my condition. It just SUCKS !!! I'm also so affraid of the side effects. All i do now is watch tv all day and try not to have a panic attack. I wonder if there is a group of people with this that we can call and talk to. Or if i can give my phone number so people can call me? I'll keep u guys posted.
