My son is being confirmed this year, and at a meeting I realized I really don't know much about the faith (I was a convert) so I am doing the reading the bible in a year program. It keeps my mind clear. I've also always wanted to play piano, sooo, with Christmas money my MIL gave me, I bought a keyboard and practice my finger exercises in front of the tv to keep my hands busy. Patti

Listen to boxerfan!! ASAP spend time replacing smoking times with something else. Getting home from work was very hard for me. I replaced it with a brisk walk with my dog. I would come home...ripped off my work cloths...put on the sweats and walk the dog. In the morning my coffee now was accomplanied by a daily devotional instead of a cigarette. My early bedtime was snuggling up with my little dog and watching CNN news. The best thing you can do is put effort into substituting a better routine for your smoking habit times. Chocolate covered Altoid mints are a nice little reward :) I used them in the beginning of my quit after EVERY meal. I've heard others swear by sour candy. Suck on a mint or a sucker. Twizzlers are good too! I actually inhaled really big and blew out like I was smoking. That is a secret though.
