New quitter....Quitting second time in my life

16 years ago 0 2 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thanks to Everybody for your support and cooperation...Reached the landmark of 6 days + 16 hours of smokefree life..Its going ok as of now...the challenge at hand is not to listen to my innerself....that junkie feeling which tries to persuade me to smoke...... If i do not listen to this voice ,i can clearly see myself crossing one week land mark...... Cheers

Hi Newb! Welcome to SS, just keep putting the hours behind you then the days and then the weeks. It's really kind of fun in a twisted sort of way :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,584 Amount Saved: $277.20 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 23 Mins: 32 Seconds: 15

newbee...hi Glad you joined. This group is awesome. If you really want to quit this is the place to be. Sorry you have to go through a few difficult days. It's just the way it is. But...but..but.. you do have some control over "how" difficult it will be. Don't let your mind wander on smoking thoughts. It won't get you anywhere and will make it harder. Avoidance is the key. Watch movies...go to bed early....take walks... read books.... do exercises. Anything but smoke. Positive is HUGE....no bigger than huge. You can do this. You have 4 days into this. You won't know what the non smoking side is all about unless you do what needs to be done now. Your doing really great Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 274 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,480 Amount Saved: $1,224.78 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 0 Mins: 37 Seconds: 13

Newbee, You are exactly right! If you keep going forward, you'll never have to do this day again. Imagine how happy you'll be when you get a week under your belt. Keep focused on the reasons that you quit and know that all of this will get easier and you will have a life of freedom as your reward :) You are doing great! Do some deep breathing Newbee, slowly! Drink cold water! Change your routine around, find something to keep busy, puzzle, clean somthing, wash something. Suck on a straw, eat some baby carrots. Coming here usually helps too, read the Joe Cool post, that will always killa craving! Hope this helps Newbee! Keep working hard on it, and soon you will have to change your name to old timer! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 231 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,775 Amount Saved: $2,437.05 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 5 Mins: 59 Seconds: 30
