Hi again, Zanax I understand is a medication for anxiety (which of course helps control IBS) but I think it was Jeannie who mentioned a drug specifically for IBS. Jeannie, what drug where you referring to ? / Lena

Hi, I too suffer from IBS, and for me it's something that really "feeds" my anxiety. I just been diagnosed, and in a funny way it has been helpful when working with my fear and anxiety. It's a disease, not a disaster. For me, a lot of feelings of shame is involved, even though I myself would not judge anyone because he or she had an upset stomach or a bowl disease. I'm curious to know about the medication someone mentioned earlier in this topic ? What medication is that ? / Lena

I normally never had this until this past summer.....3 weeks of constipation, bloating, etc.....metumucil helped, oatmeal helped and excercise helped......eventually this symptom went away but still have anxiety.

UGH yes! I have this and it is awful! I have dealt with it for over 10 years now. I can handle so much of it but the upper gas pains kill me. Of course, anxiety does not help one single bit either.

Hi gina, I have Crohn's disease, and have suffered with it for over 30 yrs. When ever I have a flair up, my anxiety kicks in big time, and when I am anxious, or have a panic attack, my Crohn's get really bad. I am on Xanax now, for the panic, anxiety, but they have new drugs out there for IBS, and they are very safe. I wish they would work for Crohns. I am surprised how many people suffer with panic & anxiety have bowel problems. I really understand what you are going thu! But I will say Xanax has helped me. I am taking it now. I still run to bathroom 15 times a day, but the pain isn't bad as it was. I'd take the crohns everyday over the Panic, but I am working on the panic and anxiety, and agraphobia, then I know I will get better with the Crohns. Jeannie
