Relief for this symptom?

Hiya Rachele... Wow do i hate that feeling! When i start to feel these sensations i do something.. clean my room, clean the house, scrub the floor, go for a walk anything! I do something active, because not only does it take my mind of it but it also tires me out a little. I find this helps me, and will ease the symptom. Hope it helps you Sarah xx

Hi there. For me relaxation breathing has always helped. Relaxation breathing is where you breath deeply and slowly through your abdomin instead of your chest. If you were laying down and had a book on your belly and tried this breathing technique, the book should rise not your chest. This gets more oxygen to the brain and it helps take the focus off how you feel like you can't breath and istead focuses on your controlled breathing. This technique alone made a huge difference in my recovery. Also, remember that you will not stop breathing and that you will not die from a panic attack, this too helped me. Hope it helps. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a method for relieving this symptom. When I start to become very anxious I feel a tightening in my chest and throat (lump?) and a sensation like my insides want to jump out of my mouth (or projectile vomiting...sorry). Anyway, this really is uncomfortable and can rev me, anyone have a method of dealing with it?
