Freebird you said it very well. I too hung around here for about year before the quit took. Newcomers, come and join us. Fight your way to a new and better life. Quitting for some of us has been a hard fought battle and other no so. The only thing that I can really add and this was so important to me and my quit "DON'T EVER GIVE UP QUITTING!!!" I had to do this and it works. This site will be most useful to you. The information you can get from this site will relate to each new quitter in some way. You get real world experiences from people who have gone through whatever you may be going through at any point during your quit. Spend time not only going through the workbook, but searching through the support group discussions and reading through different ones. I am not one to post often, and every now and then put my two cents in. But what I did do is browse and read a lot. New posts, old posts, funny and a few sad posts. The one common thread in here though, besides being ex smokers, was the care and concern of people of whom are complete strangers. You can almost feel the emotion through their words and responses. Sometimes I would like to respond more often than I do, but there are so many people on here that have so much more knowledge and know how to put feelings into words more than what I can do. Not just the support specialists, but the individuals who seem to be on here all the time(which is a good thing) If you feel that way to, don't be afraid to just browse and read and learn. This is a great site with a ton of support and open 24 hours a day. I made it 1 year smoke free, joined about 1 1/2 years ago and like most just had to get through a few slips here and there, but because of this site, it helped me persevere through the bad times. Good Luck to the new quitters.
