Hi, I am also new to the website, I just posted my story and I was browsing for others. Well, I have SAME feeling concerning my jaw area, not so often in the chest but during a panic attack my jaws are so stiff I can hardly talk. And what is even more strange is that my right ear hurts during a panic attack. I know this is strange..Does anyone have pains in his ears? I am pretty sure this pain comes from the panic disorder.... By the way, I also don't take any medicines. I always have xanax in my pocket for emergency cases and some menthol drops to help me breathe if I get it..:)) I read several stories already and I am so "angry", seems that it really hits young, clever, successful people... But we will go through this. Right? Maria//

Hi CanadianMel, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. It is great to hear that you are making an appointment to see a doctor. In the meantime please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you are hesistant to discuss this disorder with your doctor, you may find some of our tools very helpful as outlined below. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Good luck at your doctor's appointment. Be sure to post often, this is a great place to share your feelings and experiences of anxiety. Hi Canadian, I think you will find alot of people here who suffer from sharp chest pains and throat issues. I definitely have a serious problem with heartburn and take meds for it, but when I am anxious that acid overcomes the the meds. People also get pain in the throat or chin from tensing up or clenching the teeth. If you haven't had a physical yet though, go get one, might relieve your mind a bit. Rachele

Hi everyone out there, I am a 26 yr old female, I started with panic a few months ago. My first attack was so bad I actually became temorarliy paralized, lost the ability to move my arms and my hands became frozen. I thought I was having a stroke for sure. Turns out when you hyperventalate really badly you can cut of circulaton and loose sensation in your extremities also had really crazy tingling all over. Anyhow it totally freaked me out. I actually seemed to recover from that but now I have anxiety and waves of panic once a day.. Most of the time I just analyze the weird sensations in my body, like I'm overly aware of all my physical feelings. Ive heard alot of people say the feel like they are going to fall over, I get that alot, I dont and haven't taken any meds,I actually have a fear of them, I will be starting therapy soon. My problem is that I am so embaressed to tell my doctor about anything, I am currently having sharp, shooting pains in my upper chest, and jaw area (more under the chin) could it be heartburn from anxiety...anyone else had anything like that? some of the pain areas are tender to the touch but the shooting pain is so bad it's like a bolt of lightning going through that lasts only a second or two. Can anyone relate to my Hypochondia! :quest:
