Hi - Today is my Quit Day

16 years ago 0 42 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Day Two - the sun is shining. My morning coffee still tastes good. I am a NON smoker - at last. I woke up this morning thanking the universe for FREEDOM. This is actually exciting! Chantix has been a huge help to me and certainly does take the "edge" off. Finding this board and hearing from so many other successful NON smokers has been equally helpful. Thanks all! May everyone enjoy a beautiful September weekend. It's the start of a new season in more ways than one. Margo. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25 Amount Saved: $6.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 23 Seconds: 49

Margo - You can do this! The first day is done, just take it day by day, minute by minute. It gets easier with each day that passes, trust me. I'm a week and half in it and the ability to smell and taste is awesome. you can do this! Stick to the boards, whenever you crave, come to the boards. I'm with you! Day 2 = HERE SHE COMES! One day down - rest of my life to go! Doing fine here - nothing that a little Tylenol won't help. Thanks for the support everyone. Hi Margo Welcome to this great site. I'm another chantix user...all done with it, and it sure helped me to do this. Yes, positive attitude is very every important. Use what everyone else has suggested, plus, pamper yourself. You are embarking on a monumental journey..what a wonderful gift you are giving to yourself and loved ones. it is somewhat tough at times, but very do-able. Have patience and enjoy the journey. let us know if we can help in any way. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 183 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,320 Amount Saved: $1,244.40 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 14 Mins: 36 Seconds: 9

Margo, welcome and congrats on your decision to quit :) I wish I had done it years ago. The search utility is awesome here, if you search for chantix you will see what some of us posted. What Sparky said, and others is the secret though, don't smoke and you will be fine. Not one puff ever. Don't smoke and the craves will stop. What really helped me was to acknowledge and realize the daily positives of my quit, the benefits, and I still do that. Read read read here and post, the support here is amazing. Thanks everyone! I'm at 10 hours post quit and each hour is easier. Will go with my husband to an orchestra concert tonight. Just finished reading a lot of Allen Carr's writing -very helpful to me as an "attitude adjustment". I am so excited about my new life as a non-smoker. Peace to all, Margo

Welcome. I have used Chantix. It is amazing. I have tried everything under the sun and this worked. Key is you have to be willing to do your part - DON'T SMOKE :eg: As with everything else you will have growing pains. Just have you survivor kit ready. Water, healthy snacks, exercise, and this site. If you haven't already sign up for the Chantix daily emails. They work great and are helpful. But this site is the best.
