Greger, By the time I finish preparing my salad, I probably would have had less calories with a Big Mac meal from McDonalds. There is comfort in food. I just have to get uncomfortable I guess. Doodles, I'm certainly still eating more than I should, or perhaps more often which adds up to the same thing. It's that noon meal that is my worst, it's always some sort of fast food delivered to my work station. I still cant get myself to get a salad every day but have totally eliminated the fries or onion rings. No more cheese on the burgers, that crap isn't really cheese anyway. I know I should pack a healthy lunch but Che'Greger is not on duty in the morning and refuses to pack lunches. Most things in my kitchen require preparation, I will (almost) never buy prepared foods. I keep lots of fruits on hand, grapes, bananas, mangoes, papayas so a sweet snack is easy and healthy or a smoothy can be made quickly. For a salty snack there are always olives and real, usually imported cheeses, add some crusty bread and a glass of wine and a meal is ready in seconds. Granola bars, some healthy and some not, have become a favorite for portable snacks or just something to munch on before bed, or, uh, if you have to get back out of bed to feed that odd craving for *something, just not a smoke* My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 984 Amount Saved: $172.20 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 10 Mins: 17 Seconds: 55

LOL, you've turned into a non smoker Doodles. Go with the flo for now. You can lose the weight later. I know you're not wanting to eat everything in sight, just swap some stuff out for healthy choices and it will help. Carrot sticks, cut up caulifour & broccoli, celery, and dip (Three cheese ranch is a good one) I used chocolate covered peanuts. Just protect your quit first. Up your walking time or intensity if you are really worried. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 206 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,150 Amount Saved: $2,173.30 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 4 Mins: 11 Seconds: 57

I finally was able to say "just a salad for me please"! It was a grilled chicken Caesar, I only put on a little bit of dressing. It was from my favorite Italian place, a Stromboli would have been fabulous, The meatball sub is incredible. I was offered some Calzone and turned it down. To celebrate I had a smoothie for dinner, a banana, a peach, some pineapple, a bit of protein powder and a splash of milk. I'm mostly snacking on beef jerky now, a little goes a long way. This was just the first, there are many more salads to come!
