HMMMMM,
To the contrary...I was always worried that I didn't cough anything up. Infact I never did in any of my quits.
I think I would be more concerned about not coughing up stuff.
I'M NOT CLEANING OUT......HELP!! :8o:

tryagain
I coughed up stuff initially, then stopped, and now have been coughing for a few months. Have no idea if it's a problem or not, but I finally went to the doc's. Been doing all kinds of tests, but so far we haven't figured out what it's about. I know, that was absolutely no help.....lol

Tryagain, I did cough at first and then another spurt of coughing after I was done the nicotine patch. So it could very well be the cleansing routine, but pay close attention, ok, 'cause you know that smoking masks lots if stuff! :)

Try - I kind of did the same thing later on. I will spare all the details but I just recall one event in the hot shower.....
You will know when it is time to go to the doc. Please don't wait if you feel the need.

tryagain,
It is possible that this is the case and your body is doing some late cleaning. The issue is if it persists. If it does, then it is a good idea to check with your doctor or a clinic to rule out anything medical.
Use lots of water to rid your body of any toxins and this will help flush it out quicker.

Unlike many others, I did not start coughing after I quit and coughting up "stuff" as my lungs cleared. I've just now started coughing up mucus, not quite as bad as when I smoked but more than the none I've had up until now. Isn't it rather late for my lungs to be clearing themselves of gunk? Just some ballpark opinions. I know someone is gonna say go to the doctor but for various reasons that is quite impossible. Few would let me in their offices, and there is a wait for this kind of thing at a clinic for several days of sitting there and waiting.
