Hurricane Frances!

Thank you Rachele for writing me back. I feel a bit better now just shell-shocked and with Hurricane "Ivan" looming very close I am afraid my panic will increase, I will not stay here if he hits I do not think our house will withstand a Catagory 5 storm! I take .25 milligrams of Zoloft a day and one .05 Klonopin before bed through during the storm I took a little extra. I just hope this nightmare will end. I hope if anyone else went through the storm they are alright. I am just trying to hold it together. thanks

Debi, how awful for you!! I was born and raised in Florida and remember how terrifying the hurricanes could be. I find it pretty much the norm that I can hold on during an emergency situation and then lose all control after its over. I think it may be a survival response, "Just keep going, if you stop now you can be hurt!" kind of thing. The physical symptoms are normal too I would guess, if you think about it people lose control of their bodily functions when they are frightened or injured and Frances was certainly a terrifying situation. Also, I frequently feel achy, sick to my stomach, and off food when I go through a severe anxiety episode. Hang in there! If it goes on though go to the doctor. Rachele

Thank you Michael for your kind words. What scared me tonight was I actually vomited bright red blood but thankfully it stopped. I will give my body time to heal you are correct. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal but its very common to have panic after the stressful situation and Yes, I tend to vomit lately after a major panic attack and have the flulike symptons....your body is weakened by the anxiety and it impacts your immune system. Give yourself time to heal from the ordeal you have been thru and dont dwell on the symptoms if you can and within a few days you will be feeling better. Keep us posted. Michael

I live in Florida and just endured Hurricane Frances. It was quite horrific, I was told to take a klonopin by my Doctor but it was still quite frightning the wind and rain of 110 miles an hour went on for 25 hours! We got our power back and I am grateful for that and also that my family was not hurt and the damage was just not too bad. Believe it or not I had a panic attack AFTER the storm I have been vomiting constantly I feel like I have a terrible flu or virus, is this panic or just the after effects of the horrible storm. I cannot eat or sleep. Perhaps the canned food I ate 2 days ago made me so sick. Has anyone ever endured a horrific situation and had symptoms afterward?? To anyone living in Florida I send my prayers and blessings. If anyone can answer my question about the nausea vomiting headaches I would appreciate it I feel this storm has set me back so badly! Thank you.
