hi Tiffany, welcome and congrats on making a great decision to quit. you've come to the right place, there's alot of support here. i know i wouldn't be quit without all the great people here. are you planning on using any nicotine replacement?(gum, patches, inhaler). alot of people have had alot of success using them. there is also prescription Chantix and it is working great to cut down on the cravings. you have some time to plan so you may want to check out the different options available. you CAN do it and we are here for you! Hello Tiffany24 and Welcome! Lainey gave you some good advice. You will also find the people here to be a one-of-a-kind group for support and encouragement. Use that just as you would other steps in your process to quit. They have been where you are, and know the way out. They will be here for you! All the best! Dan

Welcome Tiffany24! This is a great place to start. You have some time to plan, so start by doing the program here and in the next few days read all you can here, old and new posts. There is tons of really helpful information here on what to expect and how it works and on and on. The knowledge really is a powerful tool! Plan ahead, with strategies for your quit day. Gum, candy, straws, cold water, distractions. You can do this, so many of us have done it, and we are all here to help you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 192 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,800 Amount Saved: $2,025.60 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 12 Mins: 20 Seconds: 35

Hello! My name is Tiffany and I have set a quit date of September 26th. I have smoked since 1993 at which time I considered myself a "social smoker" however at this point I am up to smoking a pack a day. I no longer want to be a smoker and have planned to quit for sometime but have trouble following through with it. That fact alone is one of my motivations for quitting. I have been dating my boyfriend for 6 months and I want to prove to him that I can quit and I can stay quit. He will be very supportive. More importantly though, my seven year old daughter came in the garage last night and said "I don't want it to happen but it might" and I said "What are you talking about?" She said "You might die from smoking!!" If that right there is not motivation to quit than what is. I do not have a lot of will power. I am really good at planning things but not so good at following through with them. I will need all the encouragement and support I can get. TextText
