Work place and panic/anxiety disorder

19 years ago 0 138 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Donna! I too work and have experienced panic while at the office. I have found that I can distract myself with things that MUST get done. If I have a slow day at work that is more difficult. Luckily I have a private office so I turn on my teeny, tiny tv to talk shows, make grocery lists, surf the net for Xmas gift ideas, plan meals, etc. Anything to distract myself. I have never cut back on work but when I have a setback I practice all my "panic strategies" like mad at home. Hope this spell passes quickly for you. Rachele

Hi donna451, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety or just share their experiences and feelings about this disorder. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Be sure to post often and let us know how everything is going. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Hello everyone---I have been a victim of panic and anxiety disorder since 1985 and have luckily been able to work even though sometimes I have had to cut back when the attacks and anxiety are high. I have been working full time since 1999, but again am experiencing a setback and have chosen to cut back to 6 days a pay period instead of 10. I just feel I need sometime to regroup. Would appreciate feedback on anyone elses dealings with working with panic/anxiety disorder. Thanks _donna451
