Agreed, I feel very much better since I started on the Lexapro. I do not experience the "dreads" as much in the morning, although I do experience some general tightness and anxiety in the mornings that takes about 2 hours to abate.
I have posted elsewhere about my current symptoms, which include what my wife has begun calling "the grimace" -- the tightness in my chest and stomach often causes a look on my face as if I am about to throw up (anyone who's been thru college knows the look ;-) )
Here's hoping we all get better.
HI -
I take 5 mg of prozac and .25 mg klonopin...I feel that taking the meds at night is better since you sleep thru the side effects. Prozac actually keeps me a bit wired, even at these small dosages.....I cant tolerate higher doses of meds...thinking about switching to lexapro, esp since you mentioned its making you a bit sleepy.....also, you should really think about how you felt 3 weeks ago vs today...is your heart still pounding, are you having obsessive thoughts/fears, etc....you will probably find that you are having less of these and the med is probably working. Btw, does lexapro have any side effects for you besides drowsiness? Good Luck Michael
I met with my primary physician yesterday. Since I've been getting drowsy at work by mid-afternoon, she had me shift my Lexapro dose to evenings, hike it from 10 to 15 mg and asked me not to touch the Xanax and save it only for days when I had a full-bore panic attack.
As the shift to evenings will take about 48 hours (1/2 pill last nite, 1/2 this morning, then a full dose tonite), it goes without saying that I'm a little edgy this morning. I dont forsee an attack, but am ready in case it does.
I have also just ended week 3 of the Lexapro and wonder when I will start to experience some genuine relief from it.
Advice, kind words always welcome.
